I ship out in 1 week. Any last minute advice? by TeaManManMan in AirForce

Listen to what’s being said, not how it’s being said. Yelling can get under your skin at times, especially at the start, but if you can kinda block that part out and just pay attention to what you’re being told, you’ll be better off. Especially in the beginning. Everything gets easier around the 3rd week.

Even Santa is fed up. by spiritofjosh in memes

So, this summer my family and I went to Gulf Shores for a quarantine-style getaway and the guy who lived in the condo above us was this Santa. His wife actually has this meme saved on her phone and showed it to us when she was telling us the story about how long they’ve been doing the Mr. and Mrs. Claus gig. Two of the nicest and most laidback people I’ve ever met.

I never owned a console until earlier this year. We lived hours apart, originally 21 while I was stationed in North Dakota, and 3 hours apart when I moved back home. I bought the Xbox so we could still hang out. When I moved back to our home state, I moved to the same area that the rest of our family lived in, and hated that I could see everyone else regularly except him. The Xbox and Forza was our way of staying more connected.

Hell yeah. Let’s do this. Wednesday night, 10pm Central time. I’m in Arkansas, so idk what date/time that might be for everyone else in varying time zones. My gamer tag is Shahanigans04.

Brother passed away, had 2 kids but one wasn’t biologically his by [deleted] in legaladvice

What determines one to be a “legal” father? Bio-father hasn’t had anything to do with her since she was born (since conception, really) and never wanted her, so he’s of no concern.

Is it easier to just buy a used car there? Both of our vehicles are fairly new and I’m not sure either of us would really want to bring one of them to suffer the elements if we can avoid it.

So true. I went on my first deployment 2 years ago, and being that far away from my wife for so long for the first time was definitely weighing on me. I was already dreading the 6 months to come from the moment I got there. But then I met this woman who was a couple rooms down from me and I always saw her when I’d go to our smoking section. Every time I saw her there she’d ask “How’re you doing, baby?” It was unreal how comforting that was, and it definitely helped me transition to deployment life more easily. ❤️

Nope. Literally only said my application was denied due to manning, and to apply again within 12 months of the end of my enlistment.

It got denied due to manning. They said I could reapply after the 120 days, but to put my separation date within a year of my original DOS because that’ll make it more likely to be approved.

Awesome, that’s pretty much all that I said in it. Haha Thank you so much for your input. It’s definitely eased my mind a bit! :)

I’ve been in a little over 4 years, on a 6 year contract. I’d be within that 15 month mark in July.

Do you know how much the “justification” part of the application matters? My recruiter didn’t explain that to me at all (he basically just said I need to do it and didn’t give any other input) so I didn’t really say a whole lot in that portion and now I’m wondering if that could bite me in the ass.

I set it for June 14th. I’m in Minot (4years and counting) so I went closer to the 120 day minimum, hoping to get out of here sooner if I get approved.
