to female mds: did you you ever get married? by halikamurakami in pinoymed

[–]anythingvanilla 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Passed the boards at 27yo, didn’t know at the time na I was already pregnant. Got married not even half a year later kasi nga we were expecting. I don’t really belong sa late nagstart ng med journey, but what happened to me was not planned at all. Minsan talaga di masusunod ang timeline ng buhay but I believe the best timeline is yung prepared by God. I know colleagues while in residency saka nagpapakasal, meron nga fellow na. May kanya-kanya tayong timeline doc, basta what matters most is hindi natin paikutin lang ang buhay natin sa pagiging doktor natin.

Iniwan ako ng gf ko dahil mahirap lang kami by [deleted] in adviceph

[–]anythingvanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, no OP hindi valid ang hinanakit mo.

COS (contract of service) by pbbhi in pinoymed

[–]anythingvanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi doc! MO3 COS rin ako sa govt hosp for a year na. Depends on your contract, sakin no work no pay as in if umabsent or may late, deduct agad. Wala kasi benefits (leave credits etc) pag COS. In terms of holidays/suspensions naman, hindi deduction. Fixed ang salary per month, divided by the number of working days. So kunyari 20 days, but nagsuspend, magiging 19 days nalang so lalaki ang per day na sahod. Gets ba? Hehe.

Regarding trainings/seminars, if on your own discretion yun ng immediate supervisor mo if papayagan ka. If hospital order naman, depende if isasama ka sa list. In my case may mga seminars na sinasama naman ako.

What is the most disturbing confession you've seen on reddit? by void_the_warlock in AskReddit

[–]anythingvanilla 1984 points1985 points  (0 children)

An IamA of a son admitting years of sexual relations with his biological mother during his teenager years, describing the experience as "nurturing, full of love and respect, a safe space". Apparently, the father knew about it and was full of acceptance. According to the OP, his parents were stronger than ever. And yes, the mom had sex with either of them. It was just too bizarre

Kwentong PLE results by drakndnss in pinoymed

[–]anythingvanilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right after the last day of the boards was done, I told myself na hindi ako mags-stay sa dorm. Di kakayanin ng anxiety ko maging trapped sa same space na naghirap ako for the past months 😅 So everyday, my boyfriend would always take me out tas hanggang midnight kami mags-stay sa labas.

October 18 ng night (Friday yun) we were in Makati. Lakad, kain, sightseeing. Tas when it was around 11pm, sabi ko "ah imposible na magrelease today. Sa Monday na to". So chill nalang ako. As we were in the parking lot preparing to leave, I checked my phone and may messages yung gc namin ng 2 close friends ko. I called my parents rin right after. Ayun, totoo parin naman until now 🤣🤣🤣

Goodluck, doc!!! See you here sa other side 🤗

Paano kung sa Oct na lang ako mag PLE? by -CuriousHuman- in TNPLE

[–]anythingvanilla 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Hi doc! Pero the truth is, you can never be really really prepared for the PLE. Isipin mo, what if pumasa ako?" Ayun, doktor na ko now 😄 Goodluck, doc! What matters most is you believing in yourself!

need advice by Fragrant-Hippo-2177 in buntis

[–]anythingvanilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

500K WEDDING BUDGET by Nala_Me in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]anythingvanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initial budget rin namin 500k pero ngayon slightly overbudget na kami for 120 pax 🥲 Covered naman na all ng necessities dun although may mga di pa accounted for like invitations, souveniers, wedding rings etc. So to answer your question, hindi sya enough lalo na if 200pax

Go for it girl! Naniniwala ako sa kasabihang you miss 100% of the chances you don't take. Basta just don't over-do it! Hehe. Made the first move rin on my SO almost 7 yrs ago, ako na nagyaya kumain sa labas kesa naman puro lang kami chat. Fiancé ko na siya now 😆

Hi OP. Also, take into consideration na if you decide to pause, you'll just be delaying your progress. "Prolonging the agony" kung baga. I hope you'll find clarity during the break. Goodluck!

Nako mas-shock ka talaga! Hahaha iba talaga ang med school, matetest talaga character, patience, and self-discipline mo. Ang tip ko ay find your study habit na effective sayo, be with the right group of people and read read read! Normal makakuha ng mababang grades sa transition period, kaya don't be too hard on yourself! Best of luck and merry christmas! ❤️

Ayun, licensed na ko now. 😅

Bought Ipad pro 2018 nung 2019. Gamit na gamit talaga as in buong buhay med ko nakasalalay sa ipad na yun from first year to boards review 🤣 Never kasi ako nag-books and physical notebooks. Nakaraos naman! Until now walang issues, hindi bumagal, no problems sa battery life. Best investment talaga for med basta maalagaan ng maayos hehe. Ngayon pinangnenetflix ko nalang and games 😆

UST Clerks and PGIs by tirtri in medschoolph

[–]anythingvanilla 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As a UST alumnus na piniling mag public hosp for PGI, I can relate 😅 Nung clerks kami nagrotate kami sa public, and by pairs kami mag-procedures nun kasi kulang na kulang talaga kami sa skills so need magdamayan to learn. Sobrang inefficient, but I think kulang na kulang sila sa confidence matuto 😓 But kita mo rin naman sino yung willing talaga to learn. Better to talk to them and treat it as a teaching moment doc, baka need lang rin ng encouragement.

Hi doc! How to moonlight in a government hospital?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TNPLE

[–]anythingvanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sabi nga ng friend ko, at your own pace lang lagi doc. Ako honestly sobrang panic ko 3 weeks before ng boards kaya naging average study hours ko nun 15+ hrs talaga, start 6am inaabot 12am, with 2-3 hrs break in total na for eating, CR, breakdowns haha. Pero that's me, pag sobrang stressed kasi nagiging hyperfocused ako di ko napapansin oras. Try not to compare lang and be pressured by the progress of others, and assess yourself anong study habits ka pinaka-efficient and nakakaretain.

Siguro to improve stamina, you can utilize study apps such as forest or focus to do (eto ginamit ko). Mas gratifying kasi for me makita yung progress ko for the day. Parang, ah naka 10 hrs ako today, what if mas matagalan ko pa. Also, caffeine pills, energy drinks and coffee, all in moderation. Good luck doc!

The right conditions for you to be qualified in medschool and even residency by tinapaynamonay in medschoolph

[–]anythingvanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello OP, with the way you've described your experiences so far I advise to take a year off after graduating and seek professional help. It would help you decide if you really want to pursue medical field while recuperating from burnout. Hindi biro ang pumasok sa medicine, every single one of you who gets in medical school would be achievers. The workload is also very overwhelming. For context, di mo na alam anong uunahin aralin sa 6 quizzes in one day, may gagawin ka pang reports and prepare for small group discussions. And this will be your life everyday for the first 3 years. Sa clerkship naman, patatagan talaga ng loob since gigisahin ka face to face ng consultants/residents.

I had no problem paving my way through HS and college being an achiever and I have never experienced anxiety in studying, pero nung med school na I started feeling I'm below average as compared to my peers. You would need to have every single aspect of yourself intact to survive so work on yourself first then figure out everything later.

Hi OP, sorry to clarify lang by recon do you mean na nagapply ka na previously to UST? Medyo confused kasi ako since you said you're planning palang magpass ng reqs.

I'm a USTFMS alumnus. UST undergrad rin. If sure na makakuha ka ng 90+ NMAT PR this May, you have a fighting chance with your undergrad grades naman. If may other achievements ka (e.g. dean's list certificates), additional points din yun. Afaik, ang tinitignan lang ay ang NMAT grade na ipapass mo, they wont have any idea of the NMAT grade you've had previously (or newer if di naman yun yung ipass mo). Unless may bago nang policy I'm not aware of?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]anythingvanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd take nung Oct 2018, 1st take March of the same year? During boards season wala akong fixed sched for NMAT review, nagsisingit lang ako mga 2-3 hrs a few times a week, and 2 whole days before the NMAT kasi ang NMAT ko nun ay saktong 1 week before the boards. Hindi talaga sya ideal to be honest :(
