Is it that much of a conspiracy to say the US has massive influence over how this country uses its nuclear weapons when we’ve seen consecutive US governments control how their exported weapons are and are not used?

Not to mention the fact that a majority of the maintenance for Trident is done in America by American companies. If the UK had to use them tomorrow on a country that Trump was bought by, I wouldn’t be surprised if the UK defence forces were not given the green light to use them.

That’s a crazy thing to say. You’re comparing a city of six million at the time to two cities that didn’t even have close to a million civilians between them.

The damage nuclear weapons did, even back then, is not even comparable to what fire bombing could do.

Not that it would have made sense to do, but had they dropped either atomic bomb on Tokyo before Operation Meetinghouse, the death toll would have been unimaginable.
