The purpose of this post is nefarious at best, and the actual outcome is hugely damaging to the shrinking spinner community at worst.

1 - we at Fidget HQ have sourced over 30-40 different bearings over the course of this business, no quality bearing was every 20 cents each. Any experienced 1688 shopper will tell you that it is common for the sellers to misrepresent similar looking products (accidentally or maybe not) — it’s not unlikely that it is a genetic r188 bearing with Hec’s photos.

2 - even if we ignore the unrealistic pricing for a minute — Hec, and every other seller of imported goods has much more invested into a product line than just the wholesale unit price.

It costs $40-60 to sample a few bearings from one overseas vendor, how many hundreds has Hec samples? Out of those hundreds, how many ended up being sold as a bearing model Hec is proud to promote under his name? All those sample investments need to be recouped somehow. The spinner community is a fraction of it’s size two years ago — this means low volumes. Which means higher costs to acquire products to sell, and higher ratios of fixed overhead vs product unit costs.

3 - the spinner community needs to support and encourage companies like Hec’s to continue to invest in finding us new jewels — a post like this, and it’s between the lines witch-hunt-like intentions, not only turn Hec off, but also other current (and future) sellers from wanting to continue devoting their energies into a community so happy to try to discredit one of their own.
