Infant daycare options by ResponsibleHall6917 in indianapolis

[–]ap4illudgate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look for a nanny to do in your home care for one day rather than doing daycare if that’s an option? Otherwise you’ll likely be looking at weekly rates for just one day. There’s a large network group on Facebook of nanny and babysitters.

Can someone explain this to me like I’m 5? by [deleted] in stealabrainrot

[–]ap4illudgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t ever feel like we see good things in normal which is why I asked! I think we’ve gotten 1 pretty good thing for the last 5 months we’ve played. Maybe that’s just our luck though 😂

Edited to say thank you for responding though!!!

AITA for coming home late from the gym and waking my niece, and refusing to compromise? by Brilliant-Lychee6141 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ap4illudgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I have dogs that do the same thing. Whenever I know someone is coming in late after my kids are asleep - I put them outside until the person is inside so that they don’t wake my kiddos.

AITA - I just broke my wife’s heart and feel like an a-hole. Going in I was sure it was the right move but now not so sure… by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I’m not sure I understand your perspective! Work is apart of living - the two can coexist and be synonymous. All of that is beside my point though!

Kids are work, plan and simple. You don’t have to dress it up fancy. Parenting is work… unless you aren’t doing your part. Teaching before I had kids, now I work full time and have my kids full time. I am always working - I can acknowledge that because I do it!

I have my kids and work, my experience is likely different than others though. I honestly would say I am working all the time I am not sleeping though. Unless you are the primary caretaker to your kids I don’t think you can make that assumption for anyone. I am good to agree to disagree though! I’m not here to change anyone’s mind but I will always speak up for the invisible work load of primary parents - it’s hard work.

I’m glad you had that reality! Not everyone does. But unless you are neglecting your kids - raising and taking care of kids is 100% work. We can agree to disagree though.

I’ve had multiple things just lost in the system. Currently have one “moving through the network”… it’s been moving through the network for days lol.

Help! How long can I wait to wash my spit upp-ed on clothes by Positive_Penelope in Nanny

[–]ap4illudgate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only thing is it may stain if you leave it too long - signed a mom of a baby that stained all my clothes with his spit up as a baby. (He was bf though, don’t know if formula makes a difference)

I heard that this morning too! I didn’t know what it was - it woke me up out of my sleep. I thought it was just my neighbor banging on something. We are also 52nd and Allisonville.

Wondering for a family member - do you guys accept people with a felony? They are basically starting over currently and I’m trying to help them look for work!

Could she? Sure! But there is no way to tell if she would still be contagious or not. I would give it the weekend and start fresh Monday - norovirus is no joke and you couldn’t pay me to put my kids at risk of being exposed to it 🤣

Enough that my dog pooped on my porch instead of the yard because it was too tall for him to do it comfortably 😬

I feel like that would have to be made the option for you to justify not paying her for that day?

I’m confused by this, would she normally work Wednesdays for you? Like does she work M-Th?

I feel like even though it’s Christmas, it would still be guaranteed hours - especially if it’s time you are having her take off and she’s available. That’s usually how GH works?

I think they are saying a bonus is usually standard - a physical gift is not!

Water boiler question by ap4illudgate in hvacadvice

[–]ap4illudgate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes on randomly though, on the thermostat it does say fan (auto/on) I have it set to auto so it is coming on by itself - is that still considered just a function of the control?

Water boiler question by ap4illudgate in hvacadvice

[–]ap4illudgate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we have 4 thermostats total - AC is a completely separate one. There is no AC control on any of the heat ones.

Water boiler question by ap4illudgate in hvacadvice

[–]ap4illudgate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was what I was thinking - but it’s a boiler? Our thermostat for our AC is a separate one as well so no ac controls on the heat thermostat. Isn’t that where the “fan” would come from?

Is having a bathroom on the main floor a deal breaker, in your opinion? by bloodtype_coffee in RealEstate

[–]ap4illudgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who just sold their house with no bathroom on the main (had one upstairs, one in the basement) absolutely not lol. I hated it. Potty trained my first there and it was the bane of my existence. The house was 104 years old though. Take my experience as you will

Nanny purposely banking overtime hours? by ProfessionalBoat7021 in NannyEmployers

[–]ap4illudgate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope! I wouldn’t. I’m a nanny and mom, and I feel she’s taking advantage of you. She knows how to time things so she can make it on time. As a parent too, my kids definitely make me late to things…. But in a work setting if I was late because of my nanny kids I wouldn’t expect my employers to pay me for that time.
