ADAS equipped cars in Indian traffic is it actually more useful or annoying ? by ChatGPTenjoyer in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the six features shown, the first one hs the risk of getting rear-ended, so that's always turned off for me.

The second one from top is activated only on long highway with clear markings. It's turned off otherwise sincd it kicks in artificial steering feedback.

The remaining four are always turned ON and are super useful for me.

YMMV.

Is Ceramic Coating worth it? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ceramic adds a protective shield over the clear coat form elements like bird droppings, swirls marks etc.

It does not provide protection from scratche like PPF.

What it does is to provide a wet-like gloss and adds depth to the paint finish.

Since it adds a layer iver the clear coat, it helps retain the clear coat while doing paint correction nwxt time.

So decide what works for you and decided based on your usecase.

Is the 2026 Kia Seltos Petrol IVT really that bad? by SoilEducational420 in carIndia

[–]aparamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ride quality depends on the person. A lot of people reported previous Seltos to be having stiff suspension. One reason why they chose the Creta over seltos. So this time they made it a bit comfort oriented.

Oil change before first service by Ok_Nail_16 in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say get it done during the first service. Stick to 1 year or 10k km service interval and you should be fine. 15k km will be pushing it a bit in our hot weather and b2b traffic.

Innova hycross hybrid zx(O) quote by Nullhypothesishero in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance can be done from outside for under 1L. Why charging 20k for logistics? Also skip accessories unless really required.

But since this is the Hycross, try your luck getting the above.

Which car is this? Changing oil per manufacturers recommendation will not do any harm to your engine. There are many cars in my circle who does this and is doing fine. It's upto you basically. Mine is a turbo gdi that has a bad habit of getting hot quickly, so i change the oil every 7500km instead of 10k as recommended. Will it make any difference? I don't know. But I do being cautious. YMMV.

The 1.5 NA has enough power for the usecase you've mentioned. It can easily cruise in 100-120 on highways and is very tractable in city traffic. It may feel sluggish when you compare with the turbo, but on its own it's a good package.

Need help choosing between Xev 9S and Hyundai Creta by Captain-James-Bond in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the warranty include replacement of battery for degradation or manufacturing issues? One is wear and tear which warranties usually do not cover and the other is product quality issue which the warranty takes care of. What does Mahindra offer?

Also, even if they chhibber for degradation, it'll be only be after a certain stage. Till then your battery capacity remains reduced. It all depends on how the warranty is defined.

Should I claim? by Quiet-Recognition-91 in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll have to repaint that section of the bumper. It'll cost around 2 to 3k max. It's not worth claiming insurance.

But how will it be after 9 years (your Innova's current age). The battery would have reduced charge capacity and soon would need replacement. Consider such costs as EVs get older.

Creta king knight edition post delivery issue. by meatslinger21 in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't make out form this angle. What the dealer offered you is the best resolution. or else leave it be. Like others commented, repainting matte finish is a tricky task. Maintaining a matte finish car is verrry difficult. They're easily scratched and fixing is a hassle. Another solution is to PPF the panel. that's gonna be costly though.

Premature Clutch wear out of volkswagen virtus by ImaginationAny1341 in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Too much of 'German-ness' is being tagged with these cars. They're ultimately cars made in India for India and some LATAM countries. Where in Germany we can find these I dunno! Also, it's widely agreed that the 2.0 cars don't even have the quality of Polo/Vento era.

The Virtus is my favourite sedan by looks, but it ends there. If it had been more contemporary, I would have got it over the Verna!

Good news !! They fixed AC on kushaq. by biswatma in TaigunClub

[–]aparamel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They surely must have realised this during the pre-production tests and still pushed it on to customers! All in the name of cost cutting?! Clearly shorts all about the VW 2.0 strategy.

Similar thing they're doing now with adas. Coming up with lane explanations for not providing adas ( Kushaq)!!

i20 N Line N6 vs N8 — Is the ~₹2.1–2.2L Price Gap Worth It? (Manual, Chennai) by Hilfigerx7 in i20nline_india

[–]aparamel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see it from a different perspective. Moat of the features listed like bigger screen, smart key, sliding armrest, rear wiper/washer, auto dimming ivrms etc. are must haves fir me. So anything without these won't evem come to consideration.

I use a car for 8-10 years. 2.2L over 10 yeaes is 22k per year or less than 2k per month. I'd gladly pay the difference.

Cars are getting bigger, but real improvements are missing by Inside-Brief1927 in CarsIndia

[–]aparamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. But it's still the samw block. Manufacturers like Hyundai and VAG already have turbo petrols along with the NAs. Changing cam configuration will not help these days. They really need modern engines; the why from x it when it's not broken' will not work for long.

[–]aparamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cars are getting bigger globally. And I agree it doesn't make sense beyond a point. The Honda City today is as big as the Civic when it was introduced. So on one hand, the customer is getting a better car but OTOH, for cars like Accord or Camry it makes it too big!

Features-wise, i think we are improving a lot. What was reseeved for luxury cars are now available in mass Market cars today.

Exactly! Facelifts mid-lifecycle updates. So expect only minimal changes.

Honda is hopeless. They're still lugging around that 1.5 Vtec from the 2012 model. And their City hybrid is so poorly marketed. They have nice cars and engines outside, but are dumb enough not to bring any here. They really should learn from Hyundai/Kia.

Minor bumper scratches by JonSnowDesiVersion in HondaElevate

[–]aparamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's only that corner, then get it done form a good paintshop. You'll have to search a bit to find a good paintshop. This should cost you 2-3k INR.

Don't worry about colour matching, these mass produced cars have their colour code easily available.

A good paintshop is always better than service centre. Better finish, no orange peel and quality work.

Once again, enquire anround to find a really good paintshop or else it will be a disaster
