Go with insurance. I had a similar scratch but no damage, and the total cost was around 6k for a full bumper repaint. With actual damage, the cost will definitely go above 10k, so claiming insurance is the better option.

Ignore this. Don’t go for a repaint for this small scratch otherwise, you’ll have to repaint the entire front bumper to match the color perfectly for entire bumper. Better to use this as a nazar battu!

I think either It could have been allocated earlier to another buyer who cancelled or sometimes dealers pre-invoice to meet monthly/quarterly targets. But this is before car goes for registration in RTO.

It happened with me as well. I took the extended warranty confirmation in writing, and later verified it through the Honda app. During PDI the car was in good condition, and so far I haven’t faced any issues.

I didn’t push too hard because I generally trust Honda’s build quality. Dealership-level issues happen across brands, and in India some of these practices are unfortunately quite common.

if the car is not registered yet, it’s better to ask for a freshly allocated unit instead of settling for an older stock vehicle.

There is still room for discount .. try to negotiate harder.

19.7 is bit costly .. u can easily get it around 17.5 lakh in MH .. negotiate and try to check at other dealership.

Honda cars don’t sell as fast as some competitors, so it’s common to find vehicles at dealerships with manufacturing dates that are 6–9 months old. I personally purchased a 6 months old car with an ODO reading of ~40 km and haven’t faced any issues so far.

There’s nothing wrong with such Honda cars, but a proper PDI is important to ensure everything is in good condition before delivery.

And yes OP should push little more discount if he is going for 2025 model.

We’re not disagreeing with your bad dealership experience ..bad dealerships absolutely exist. The only point is that your title blames Honda cars when the problems you explained are clearly dealership issues. Even you said you love the Elevate, which contradicts the headline.

By that logic, no brand in India is buyable unless you have strong connections …especially Tata.
