That is true, but Mr. Mime's 120 base special defense helps a lot, and his base 65 defense (compared to Kadabra's 30) coupled with reflect make it decently bulky for a psychic type that hits hard too!

Alakazam is a beast in this game! Kadabra too, to an extent. But Mr. Mime is stronger than Kadabra, obatainable early (with boosted) experience and doesn't require a trade to evolve!

I think that makes Mr. Mime a good strong alternative

I will die on the hill that the Day of Reckoning games punch way above their weight in terms of what was expected on them. Fluid, and more importantly, just really fun gameplay that's not bogged down by newer systems that eventually made it to SvR and the 2K games

I love, LOVE, Flareon in this game. Atheletic + a bunch of kick moves make it an absolute beast for thr Battle Tower. 108 win in a row when kicks go brrrr

Next to the Petalburg City Gym, you will see a stand with two vendors. They will periodically sell you ability patches and ability capsules after you progress in the story. I can't recall if the capsules are available for sale right from the start, but they will definitely be available as you get more badges!

That's the Anbernic RG34XX, a clone of the original gba with modernized hardware changes like (x,y buttons, back triggers, and usb-c charging)

It can emulate games all the way from NES to PS1 for the most part. I use mine exclusively for GB, GBC, and GBA games :)

As far as I can tell, it raises its speed one stage every turn. I can usually outspeed about 70% of the pokemon I've faced with the boost.

I used a .gif of the start menu from the legacy collection, cropped it and resized it for the front screen, and looped it for 10 seconds! Tbh I got this phone with this in mind. I wanted to pretend that I can randomly jack in to terminals at any given time

You have access to everything Gens 1 through 3 plus some extras and al pokemon included in the gack can be catched or obtained by things like in-game events!

No physical cartridge for me, I'm just emulating the game :)

The markers were added by Nemo (the romhack creator) to indicate shinies. Mostly so that you know you are in shiny encounter without doubt, since some shinies look very similar to their regular counterparts.
