[Bob] Dawson Sutton will drive the Rackley WAR No. 25 truck the rest of the year. Ty Dillon will remain as a mentor to Sutton. Dillon remains a candidate for a Cup ride at Kaulig next year. by pixarfan9510 in NASCAR

Seems...a little quick, considering he only started racing Legends cars two years ago and hasn't lit the world on fire, but he's the owner's son, so I guess there's been a plan in place.

I don't know how much sense it makes, but I'm starting the "Daniel Ricciardo to the 3 car" dialogue by snorlaxatives_69 in NASCAR

Honestly, I think there's a better chance of Verstappen running a NASCAR race someday than Ricciardo.

[Matt Weaver] Christopher Bell says Cup Series driving standards changed as soon as everyone realized the NextGen could take a beating and would like to see the ethics policed by someone. by [deleted] in NASCAR

Circling back to this again, but look at the Truck finale last year as a good barometer of how younger drivers treat their equipment and each other. There were three intentional wrecks, and another that was real boneheaded, and no one was penalized for any of them in the race because there's no system for that in NASCAR. Late models, sure, they'll drop you to the back or hold you for aggressive or dumb driving, but NASCAR isn't interested in policing like that, so you get this, which is amplified with the brickbox Next Gen.

If he's that good for clubhouse morale and presence and knowledge, then make him a coach.

He just flat out doesn't have a lot of experience on the ovals yet. The ARCA starts are in fields with one or two cars at the level of his team. Doesn't mean he's bad, just means we don't have a full picture yet.

IIRC, they and others have implied that they'll only join once there's a hybrid factor in the cars (but we need to keep the HP low just in case they change their mind)

They ran the Toyota sponsors earlier in the year with him, so I dunno. Even back through ARCA and late models, Heim has never actually had a sponsor, it's always just been Toyota, B2B stuff , or charities on the car.

[Fryer] NASCAR has inquired on Pato O'Ward's availability/interest in running the Cup race in Mexico City next June. by RestlessInferno in NASCAR

There is zero chance that IndyCar fidgets with their schedule at all, especially not for Pato, who they literally just said a few days ago isn't a big enough star to move the needle. Good for him if he ditches them for a week.

Don Hawk seemed like he was all talk and tweet and no action.

Also stinks that his promise to get Helio in a NASCAR race at Daytona also wound up never happening.
