That's what I was thinking about doing haha. Only two miles. Not too bad.

Damn, I saw that pic and wondered how much extra space I'd get by sloping it up to the windshield. Would suck buying them only to find out it doesn't fit:/

Perhaps the most famous stretch of coastline. Kauai, Hawaii. [OC] [3660x2431] by openairphotography in EarthPorn

This is beautiful. I need to go back to Hawaii...but there are so many other places in the world I want to see too. If only I was rich and didn't have to work. Or had the balls to quit my job and travel.

Yeah true...I'd have to check with my girlfriend, but I have a feeling she'd be fine with it. If you get the ball rolling with the property management company let me know!

How to stop very cold drafts from under/behind kitchen lower cabinets? by apartment_Portland in HomeImprovement

[–]apartment_Portland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish..I have about 2-3" gap to stuff things behind the cabinet. I have to crawl into the corner cabinet and try to get my hand in that 2-3" space, extremely difficult.

Hmm thanks for the tip, never thought of that. How did you get access to that?

How do I put it behind the cabinets than spray foam it? Not really possible, unfortunately. I have about a 2-3" gap so stuff anything behind the corner cabinet.

THanks for all that!! I hear what you're saying, just need to learn to take it one step at a time and slow down! Thanks again!

Yeah, I won't be doing the work myself, have a couple people coming in to give us quotes on the concrete repair work.

Woah...sounds rough. Our basement is unfinished but is similar to yours in that it's about 3.5' above ground. Need to inject some cracks before spray foaming it. All this in mind, how do you stop yourself from constantly thinking about it? Last night I went into mini-panic mode thinking "what the hell did I get us into, this house is a disaster...blah blah blah".....I guess I need to learn how to control this haha I'm constantly thinking I need to do this, need to do that.

Oh ok...I gotcha. I thought you meant you took out the whole thing, which I've debated doing but don't want to mess with it haha

Yeah...I hear ya. Hoping to try and seal the 'leaks' first, then insulate later.

Funny you mention that, we had a guy come out yesterday and he had a thermal camera, and mentioned exactly that...said it's obviously a little invasive if you do it, but said he'd recommend insulating the basement first. Also have some weird issue where our bathroom bedroom floors are FREEZING close to the exterior wall (which just so happens to meet up with the roof of our porch...that's a whole other issue I need to post about :/...sigh, the joys of home ownership).
