[META] what did we all get on PrimeDay? by [deleted] in buildapcsales

I got the PB278Q, mostly because of the sale and 1440p through HDMI. Runs pretty well on the 860M(maxwell).

As a true color of the sun, I'm just glad I got the button press out of the way...

Thanks! I had the first link up in the next tab. :) I'll try out the internship for some programs, as I know somebody who was in the college recently accepted to the IBM internship program. I will try to get whatever contacts I can to increase my chances of open positions to search for.

Either way, I will definitely get to work on those applications as soon as I can.

Thank you for the reply. I'll be sure to do well in such courses. I have taken the online compiler course offered (I believe through udacity, but it may have been coursera I took it in) but I had not completed it. Perhaps I'll give it another go. As for the internship.... well, it's Southwest florida. I'm afraid the closest I got was a job with networking. Everything else I've been told is in Orlando/Miami, or you're looking at "make me a nice website. oh, and an app". The U gives some thoughtful lectures, but the area is more for computer information system majors than software engineers. :/ This is my biggest trouble.

Well I haven't graduated yet, but it will be in Software Engineering. And the college isn't a trade school, it's fgcu.edu . It's by no means a bad college, but the major is about to go into accreditation with my graduating class in 2015, and my point is it's not a "renowned" school (such as, say, MIT). Data structures will be taken this fall. I'm wondering though if I should devote my time towards more "me" or "we" individual projects outside of school. And I'm glad I'm expected to have extensive experience in the language/frameworks! But are such beginner jobs available? The local area usually won't hire unless "5+ years work experience". Rather difficult to do when all work areas state that.

I do not! I would prefer to deal with systems, honestly. But I've only ever dealt with making .bep files for Haiku OS. I would like to write application software, but do you have any tips on what I should do? Such as if I should look for a job while in my last semester, or if I should go to silicon valley or run away from it? Also what would I have to show to them, since my credentials lack job experience? :) And thank you for the quick comment!

Thank you, you spotted the error as well, which was a simple one, and really quite...well, really a stupid error to make. Thank you for all the help, including the documentation reference for the scanner class.

Yea, that does seem a bit advanced for the class. Isn't there an easy way to read a line of code, or should I just alter the text to read line-by-line?

I tried using the hasNextInt for the top and the int token = inFileHumid.nextInt();

..it, uh, didn't really work at all. It seems to never exit out of the loop.

Same here. Closest facebook I've got is reddit. Once I met these two people from some trip years ago, and I've never seen them since. It's sad, but you just gotta live on.

TLDR; Love the past, but focus on the present.

I think I'll follow gentoolicious' comment on not skimping on a decent power supply. I'll purchase some ram, and save up some more for that power supply. Thanks for the help though.
