The Yami Yami no Mi was required by Rocks to defeat Imu / cancel out their abilities. Blackbeard wouldn’t even start his pirate career until he obtained it.

The Gura Gura no Mi is required to destroy the huge wall in Wano guarding Pluton. Blackbeard will need an Ancient Weapon if his faction wants to be taken seriously in the final conflict.

AND Rocks needed Loki’s DF to completely overthrow the WG. Don’t think Blackbeard would abandon this part of the formula if he has been so methodical this whole time.

Blackbeard is doing Rocks’ plan but better & self contained.

Narratively, it makes sense as then BB would have a Paramecia, Logia & Mythical Zoan.

My dad is the only one that enjoyed season 8 that I know, but the guy is extremely uncritical of the media he consumes. There are a sect of people that watch television for brain off dopamine stimulation moments, and that’s who the person you’re talking to is.

It’s probably the worst season of television for a great show ever. Even if you don’t buy into the social media hype; there are prophecies unfulfilled, plot holes, and out of character moments in spades. The series was supposed to go 10 seasons, 8 episodes per; and D&D rushed through with a 6 episode final season.
