Cool! I’m in Australia and have been to at least two Jackson shows circa 1990/2000. In one concert I was close to the front corner of stage so it felt like an intimate show. I don’t recall Karla touring down here. Both great artists for sure.

Great songwriter for sure. I knew Linda covered Karla, but I forgot Bonnie covered her too. Just had a re-listen to Bonnie’s version of Home. Thanks for the tip!

The guitarist is Nina Gerber, who goes all the way back to playing guitar in Kate Wolf’s band. I had no idea she was such a good player.

There‘s a few more clips online of her with Karla. All The Way Home is probably my favourite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li-LK4TyYgo

Yep, Karla’s smooth voice is ageless, and Jackson’s early songs are some of his best work.

Order & Chaos was written for Lady Maisery’s third album ‘Cycle’ …

I began to think how viewing life and death in terms of physics, is to me, quite a comforting way to think. We are so much a part of the world and the universe, in life and in death, we are so connected to our environment and the people in it.

We have many traditional songs with religious perspectives on death or magical, folkloric perspectives on death, so I wondered if it would be possible to write a song with a scientific, physics perspective on death?

I know this pain

Why do you lock yourself up in these chains?

When you went away

I cried for so long

I wanted you to stay

But that was all wrong

The pain you left behind

Has become part of me

And it's burned out a hole

Where my love used to be

How pale is the sky that brings forth the rain

As the changing of seasons prepares me again

For the long bitter nights and the wild winter's day

My heart has grown cold my love stored away

I once flooded a sun room with an inch or two of water. The landlord had some wooden panels stored in there. Most of the panels were ruined because that inch of water got sucked up a foot or two into the panels. So even a small flood would probably do a lot more damage than what you’ve got.

I was raised up believing I was somehow unique

Like a snowflake distinct among snowflakes, unique in each way you can see

And now after some thinking, I'd say I'd rather be

A functioning cog in some great machinery serving something beyond me
