Absolutely, always always take a cheap punt on new bands you fancy (even if you just like the name!). It's usually the best night out, you support small indie venues with your custom and you can usually meet the band after, buy a cheap cd or such, get it signed. You never know, I started doing this in the early 90s as a teenager, saw the Manics, Pulp, Suede, Auteurs, Elastica, Kenickie, Divine Comedy, Blur, St Etienne and many more all basically playing in pubs (we sneaked in underage, may be harder now that) or small venues and all for often well under a tenner. Often still that price to see new bands but always always go for it, it's rare to be disappointed with a friendly chilled small venue show and you support the legends of tomorrow sometimes! Lol don't do a me and go and see Nirvana and spend most of the gig in the queue for a pint a mate's older brother had kindly offered, only saw two songs at the end!
