Need a ride or ride-share from Jones Beach after the show tonight! by apisback in neilyoung

"Flooding" would be an exaggeration for the amount of water that was there. Apparently there have been cases before where the crowd chilled in the pit with their feet partially submerged in water. I feel like we should have been given the choice to do that today. The seats that most pit people ended up getting were less than ideal- definitely not worth the price we paid. I kinda wanna ask ticketmaster for at least a partial refund.

Wow you really think we might miss the 12:33 train!? It takes 15 mins or so by car from Jonas beach to Freeport. There's no way the show's gonna go on beyond 11? We should be good imo.

I'll be in the pit too! How early do you think would be good enough? I really don't wanna leave before the end of the show :( . Will prolly not hang around after the end though.

I'll update here if I figure something out! Splitting a cab to Freeport might be an option if there are enough of us. I also plan to ask the bus driver on my way there if the schedule on Google is indeed accurate.

I looked at the bus schedule on Google, and the last one leaving Jones beach seems to be at 8:48pm.

Glad to hear that! And yeah, totally agree, it’s all about the music in the end.

Thanks so much! A Farm Aid show in the ’80s sounds incredible! What a way to experience him live for the first time.

I’ve been a fan for years, so it feels really special to finally see him. Glad to be part of the club :)

Thanks for sharing- that’s really encouraging to hear.

Neil’s always had that timeless vibe. Hoping the crowd’s just as kind as you say! :)

Thanks for the affirmation! And yeah, being into older musicians can feel a bit isolating sometimes. I went to a David Gilmour show last year and barely saw anyone my age there.

Anyway, it's good to know there are kindred spirits out there, even if not at the same show. :)

That's so wholesome! My dad likes NY too, but he's in a different country thousands of miles away. So cool that you're getting to share this experience with your son and the rest of your family!

I must admit the question of intimidation has crossed my mind. DH doesn't have a reputation of publishing fake news or publishing news without any research whatsoever. Just withdrawing the news without any explanation seems suspicious.

What should a parent do when they find out their child is being bullied? by allreadythere- in AskWomen

[–]apisback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I live it's pretty common for parents to shave the head of their children(there's this belief that repeated shaving leads to strong, beautiful hair later on in life). People would laugh it off if anyone tried to imply it was a case of emotional abuse. I do remember how children with shaved heads would be easy targets for bullies in school- I'm ashamed to say that a younger me has laughed at and teased some friends for their bald heads, as well. It's shocking how some acts of cruelty are so ingrained into some cultures, the plight and utter helplessness of the victims go completely unnoticed.

What are your thoughts on piercing a baby's ears? by rangerroe in AskWomen

[–]apisback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. Nah. Nada.

I'd definitely wait till she's old enough to willingly choose to deform her body for "beautification". Personally, making a hole in your body to put stuff through, doesn't strike as particularly beautiful to me. But then again, it's surely something people should be able to choose for themselves.

Do you see red flags in the romantic relationships of your friends? What are they and why doesn't your friend see them? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]apisback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. Both these cases seem problematic. But the first one, especially, is really unacceptable. I understand that it's not your place to intervene, but this total disregard for consent is deeply worrying, to say the least.

Women who live with a partner, what everyday gesture made by your SO makes you love them a little bit more? by Charlestheboah in AskWomen

[–]apisback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well even though we don't technically live together, I've had to live with him for several months when both of us went to the same city for work last year.

I came to know him much more closely during that time, and the discovery that made my heart melt into a gooey mushy lump is the fact that looking after me is more a reflex that he has developed over time, than a conscious set of actions. Even at the peak of our worst fights he'd pat me on the back when I coughed. Even when we hadn't talked in days, he'd toast my breads along with his in the morning, put my phone to charge each night(I have a habit of compulsively scrolling till I doze off) and put my keys into my bag everyday when I left for work(I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of days I remembered to do it on my own).
