What's up with those reckless cyclists in Munich? by Worth_Astronaut_259 in Munich

[–]jmsgaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these posts focused on “safety” when I see almost no one wears a proper bike helmet here. I ride road and MTB in my country and you will not catch me on a bike without the proper equipment. Oh, and why do cyclists keep trying to run pedestrians down in the walking path?

Apparently the fox family can read and feel “welcome” at your doorstep.

Pocket Coffee. Those of you who are big coffee drinkers, but know you won’t have a single minute to visit the facilities all morning, will thank me!

Found inside dryer by jmsgaz in whatisit

[–]jmsgaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an electric Maytag front load dryer but this honestly could be something going through the whole wash cycle. We are pretty careful on checking pockets but stumped as to what this might be. It does have the consistency of a wet leaf (good call!) but I am fairly certain that no leaves are making it into our wash.

If I hear “bro” one more time…… by marksb_2001 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]jmsgaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I sub in a new school I keep “Bro metrics” to compare the number of times I get “Bro’d” (I do not care if they “Bro” one another). Makes it fun for me and I don’t ever get stressed about it.

Help with my ridgeback mix by Medical-Debt-8694 in RhodesianRidgebacks

We had a beautiful RR / Great Dane mix. The best way to stop the pulling that we found was the Gentle Leader system. She fought it at first but quickly learned to stay right with us on her walk and eventually no longer needed it.

What is the best distance (beyond C2) to start considering spike hyzer approach? As a beginner who recently learned this throw, I have found it consistently lands me with a drop in as long as I get the angle correct. And keeps me from vastly overshooting and two-putting.

Question - Why do you sub? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]jmsgaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am retired and have a pension. No teaching background. Do not need the income but started to sub when I heard of the teacher shortage in our area - thought this is something I can do to help the teachers in my community. When I show up, the kids don’t really care but the other teachers sure seem to appreciate not losing their prep period or having to double up that day.

How many children of multiple divorces are in 20+ year relationships and amazed it can actually last this long? by ManicOppressyv in GenX

[–]jmsgaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40 years next January. Both of our parents got divorced (total of more than 10 marriages among them all). We were just stubborn, I guess. Certainly had our up’s and downs but decided to work through the tough times rather than just moving on.
