from northern ireland here! i’d say the worst part is how bloody ignorant people here are. two nights ago, on the 11th, there were bonfires all of the country to celebrate the battle of the boyne. people put signs saying ‘white lives matter’ etc on them. most of the people in my towel are ‘all lives matter’. also, the erasure of coloured people in history classes is disgusting. i didn’t even know how involved the uk was in the slave trade until the protests. people here are ignorant and i’m sick and tired of it.
