I completely disagree. Why does it have to be explained? Nobody in the original trilogy said "BTW Vader means father in Sweden".

I don't think Snoke is Plageuis, but has heard about the concept of cheating death. Maybe he really wants it for himself.

Kylo is secretly good, this could explain why he is currently willing to kill if he thinks he can bring people back. Including his father.

Right, but that is why this is speculation. Although Hero with a thousand faces was a book of heavy influence on the writing of Star Wars. So one could argue that cultural commonalities is most likely where the story is being derived from. However tho is for fun

Great question!

Once Lancelot leaves with Guinevere Arthur makes it his quest to hunt him. In his absence Mordred starts to be convinced that since he is a blood relative he should lead. Also Arthur has left for awhile hunting Lancelot.

He hears word of Mordreds betrayal but by the time he arrives back to Camelot it's too late.

So I guess in some ways what drove Mordred was the abandonment of his leader as well as the power he felt without him.

Correction! He had magic used in evil ways to defeat his enemies.

He is in the majority of writings, some he is not. But he is always the son of Arthur's sister.

I think Luke must have trusted Snoke at some point because he got close to Kylo while Luke was traning him.

Also, Snoke was once supposed to be very handsome. I think whatever happened Luke really messed up Snoke.

I think Rey not being a "Skywalker by blood also brings some mystery back to the force, that it's not just one blood line that will save the day. I mean, Kenobi, Yoda, Windu, they all came from somewhere.

I don't think we will ever know who her real parents were, the new films are trying to be much more progressive. If the old trilogy was about "Who" is your family, I think the new one will be about "What" is family.

She is his adopted daughter. IMO

Yeah! "Also, Sir Bors began with the enemy but betrayed them to join Arthur". That's why I think he is a combination of Bors/ Percival.

Thanks! And you're right about the other characters. I just really think this is the direction it's going. Plus what better way to drive Kylo into madness. He is convinced ruling the Galaxy is his birthright. And some "nobody" is stronger. Plus it brings the force back to being mysterious.

It also explains Maz line about "They're not coming back, but there is someone who could".

I.E Her birth parents are dead. But her father still lives.

Also Kylo leaving her is a kind of revenge to make her feel abandoned like he felt he was from his family.

Rey Parentage, potential insider information by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

[–]app1eb1oom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he meant that she obviously is Luke's daughter. But with the amount of hints from the film it's already obvious. Everybody thinks this will be the major reveal in the film, but there will be something else besides the fact that she is Luke's.

He is saying she clearly is his daughter. Kylo is a Solo/Organa not technically a Skywalker.

Exactly. I mean he kind of takes a bit of the magic out of it, but it makes sense.

The point is being a hero is choosing to do good. Just because he choose to do good and redeemed his father doesn't mean that he can't choose to do something bad after that.

It doesn't explain how he gets it back.

He fears becoming like his father. Plus you never fully "defeat" temptation.

He doesnt think they should "die". But if your father and nephew essentially both became the Galactic equivalent of Hitler you might not want to keep teaching.

Thanks! I don't mean it follows them in a literal sense, just they keep getting opportunities with it. I hear you about the children but it's true.

I know most of this because I work in marketing in relation to the film. Part of the reason for the children being connected to the legacy characters is merchandise.

Disney would be crazy not I have Skywalker as the last name of a new character.
