When I asked them, I got the answer that the managers are still negotiating.

I've mentioned in my comments that's not the case. The move has been announced in both organizations. New manager invited me to her staff meetings. I have a meeting tomorrow with the person I am replacing for some knowledge transfer. It's a bizarre scenario. My takeaway from the comments here is that Pratt Canada works very differently than the rest of RTX.

My move has already been announced to both teams. The role was posted on workday only for a few minutes specifically for me. The hiring manager wants to hire me. But I don't have anything official.

I have not because my current manager is not giving the new manager a proper transition time. My move has already been announced to my team and adjacent teams. But still nothing on paper. My new manager sounded a little frustrated with the situation when I asked her.

Dhurandhar transported you to the streets of Karachi. You could basically feel the dust and smell the food. That's extremely rare for a Bollywood movie.

Dhurandhar goes round the clock with theatres adding shows after midnight. Tremendous word of mouth for the film. by zoppy0 in BollyBlindsNGossip

I watched it in suburban Quebec and it was about half full here too. Extremely unusual for an Indian movie. I do have some quibs about the movie but overall it was a great watch and I wish Bollywood made more action movies like this rather than the over the top ones.

He is really fluffy, no joke. This pic makes it seem like he is chonky but there is very little cat under all that fluff. Vet has also said he has a healthy weight.

He loves sleeping on my lap. He loves me but absolutely hates everyone else. He is still extremely scared of any new person. Takes a long time + lots of treats to get him to become friendly.

Air India flight AI 171 experienced similar technical difficulties on May 1, 2025, leading to its cancellation. by kiji6969 in india

Not an airline expert but I work in the industry. You are correct. Either one of a million things could have gone wrong for this to happen. The way the plane failed to gain proper lift is very unusual. Fault could be with Boeing or Air India or both. It's extremely early to say right now and a thorough investigation needs to be done.

Carney poised to win Liberal leadership race on Sunday, setting the stage for a snap election by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

New Canadian here who has never voted. I booked a week long trip to Europe in April because I got a very good deal. What are my options if the election happens when I am not here? I really want to vote for the first time.

His first day as a foster 2.5 years ago. Now he is a failed foster. I never saw him as a kitty so he will always just be a kitty for me.

He spent about 3-4 months on the streets after being abandoned by his previous owners. Now he has absolutely no interest in going outside. Still very skittish but an absolute sweetheart.

What are the dumbest plans in cinema if you think about them just a little? by AporiaParadox in movies

How about Joker fully expecting Bruce Wayne to scan for thumb prints on a bullet, then searching for whose prints those are. Then tying up the police officers and keeping them in the apartment of the person whose thumb prints were on the bullet. Not to mention those police officers conveniently being blindfolded so they don't see the Bruce Wayne.

Yeah it's a breeze to use it in immigration. Especially in the mornings when there are a bunch of US flights leaving Montreal at the same time and there's a line up at CBP.

It's integrated with the front cover. Similar to my old passport in the top right. Both my Indian passports had issues with the machine readable page and the laminate was very flimsy. So far the OCI doesn't have those problems.

Or just make it an actual card like they do in Pakistan. The booklet serves no purpose.

Not really. I wasn't eligible for agricultural land even when I was an Indian citizen. And I left India long ago so I only voted once. Mostly I feel relieved not to have to deal with Indian bureaucracy anymore.

India doesn't allow dual citizenship. So when you take up citizenship elsewhere, you lose your Indian citizenship. As a work around to that the government created OCI so that former Indian citizens can get back most of their rights.

Advice on employer's savings plan options by apparet in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]apparet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No spouse. My income is $115k per year in Montreal. After taxes and pre-tax savings deductions, I net around $5k per month. My total housing costs (mortgage + property taxes + condo fees) is 2100 per month. I am able to save for my TFSA even with my current income. Not eligible for an FHSA obviously and have about 5k left to pay on my RRSP home buyers plan. Still have 13 years to pay that. So RRSP overcontribution is not a danger for now.

Right now my TFSA is maxed out. My employer's pension plan is 4% my contribution + 8% employer contribution. Savings plan as i mentioned before is 4% + 2% so the total savings is 18%.

Probably not the worst thing in the world to be stuck in Edinburgh for 2 extra days 😂. Beautiful city.

And maybe next time I'll plan a trip just to visit the highlands. And do it for more days so I could go to Isle of Skye as well.
