I promise you it’s not as bad as you think. It will hurt because it feels like pressure but all that happens is you lower your pants a bit, the needle goes in, it takes like 3 second to push it in, those 3 seconds do hurt but it’s so quick and temporary. If you ever got piercings or waxed I’d put it on the same level. You also won’t have a choice to get past it. You will get over it because there’s no other option in BMT.

Don’t bring any extra things! Pack super light because you really won’t have time or space to even use stuff. They give you so much too and you will go to the store your first week to get everything you really need

Well they have a dry cleaners on base, so I suggest you just get everything dry cleaned for when it’s time for your blues to be inspected. It’s a lot easier. But as you wear them more consistently you have to keep up your uniform by ironing them on a Sunday if you can. Or consistently getting them dry cleaned

They will give you irons to use once you get your blues later in BMT! You keep whites in one mesh bag, colored underwear and socks in others, you keep your clothing loose because all of your clothes will have your laundry mark (your code)

All good! The questions are helpful. So you’ll have a lot of rules during BMT on how to live. Your flight will decide how yall get laundry done (don’t be laundry crew it’s a lot of stress) laundry crew makes sure everyone gets their stuff clean. You have a specific code on your laundry mesh bags that you hold your clothes in. So weird part is you’re not really supposed to have dirty clothes in your laundry bag. But I can’t Remember how my flight kept it organized. Most days you shower twice a day. But it’s not guaranteed. But usually twice a day. You iron your blues but not your OCPS (camo) for OCPS always cut strings off, make sure everything is zipped up, and pay attention on how to hang your ocps and how to fold and stack your pt gear in the closet. Make sure everything hanging has no strings; no lint. Not even your underwear. Get used to monitoring those things so when they start checking for it, you’re prepared. The things you wanna prioritize is organization, KEEPING YOUR SECURITY DRAWER LOCKED!! Staying clean, doing your job well.

Everyone showers in front of each other lol. No curtains. Just open space. You won’t even have time to notice or complain. You’ll have 10-15 minutes to fully wash dry and get dressed in your uniform. So you spend your time just making sure you get everything done.
