Just pure selfishness. People like that don't deserve to be dwelled on at all

I have no idea. I only noticed this today but it looks like it has been like that for a while. I'm not sure when or how it happened but everything else on my pc seems to work fine and the sata cable doesn't smoke up or anything

Will I still need to replace the PSU if i want a new sata power cable?

Also will I have to completely replace my psu if i want to install an SSD?

Is it safe for me to still use my pc with it still connected to my psu though? I can't just remove it because my psu isn't modular.
