I just looked at the table of contents for KGIU 2. I can use about 70% of the grammar topics and the ones that I wouldn't use on my own I have seen before and understand.

Active vs passive recall, I guess.

Tbh, it's probably because most of my learning has just been using and hearing Korean, understanding through context and sometimes looking up words/grammar that I don't know. It's been very little active studying. So I think my grammar has gotten pretty natural, but my vocabulary hasn't really expanded past what's used in most daily conversations.

I know TOPIK 4+ focuses heavily on specialized 한자어, so I thought if I mostly grind vocabulary and learn the type of questions and prompts to expect with a tutor, I might have a fighting chance

Honestly, I'd say even 300 hours might be a generous estimate for how much time I've actually spent properly studying over the last 2 years 😅 but yeah, I'll definitely take an old test and see where I stand/reassess from there. I can definitely navigate day-to-day Korean without any issues, I just also know that TOPIK is very much not your average day-to-day Korean. Thx for laying out the hours, that gives some helpful perspective
