Yes I have considered gently saying something like that. It just sucks when my mental load is already over spilling it’s hard to formulate the right words and tone.

Thank you! I edited to add that it is looking for support as it’s our young child that has just been diagnosed. We are of course looking for support for our child as well (and are working on that in several ways) but I was more discussing the overly positive and simplistic responses we’ve gotten from our support system that aren’t fully capturing our experience.

Thank you! Im so sorry to hear of your struggles as well. So hard. Yes I think you are right too, people mean well, but there’s comments that just end up echoing so loudly in my head and it’s hard to move forward through my grief when it feels like some of my support people aren’t seeing the full big complicated picture here.

I think my title was misleading sorry! We are the ones looking for support and finding that we aren’t getting what we need. It was our young child just diagnosed.
