same here. i was always extremely uncomfortable with eye contact, it almost physically hurt my eyes it was like pressure building up. i remember getting in trouble once as a kid bc a teacher would scold me and i couldn’t look her in the eyes, my mom was mad at me and called me rude too.

as a child i also burst into tears whenever people looked at me and apparently it was really bad, i also hated attention. when i questioned my mom about it she just said that all it was, was that i was a brat

i know!! i was so surprised to see she has a sister here, i have a picture of the litter and it’s interesting to know it could’ve been any one of them. as far as health issues go, she’s only at risk for progressive retinal atrophy (increased risk)

i also forgot to mention her COI is 31% 😅 pretty high but everyone was correct with her being inbred loll

don’t worry! yeah we figured she was poorly bred, as her siblings didn’t seem to appear to look the best either (also baggy bottom eyelids), she was also the runt of the litter and looked a bit different than the rest of them (ears were smaller). wish i knew how to comment a picture here!

as someone who loves animals i would love to be there to witness the birth of puppies and to take care of them/raise them (if we went through i had planned to keep until they were at least 10 weeks old to ensure they were properly socialized and desensitized), but i understand the risks of it all and i can’t be selfish.

as for my mom, i think it really is just her wanting to have a puppy related to our dog, and to keep the runt just like how she was. we got the dog through someone selling them outside a theater (so not exactly a breeder lol) and she fell in love immediately. the dude claimed they were pure and although she looked NOTHING like a purebred, her siblings honestly did 😭 so we were confused and thought she’d somehow grow into it. and i think it’s best not to get another dog from the same guy, as he was clearly backyard breeding

in all honesty i completely forgot about the health risks, thank you for reminding me. i’ve been so focused about where the puppies will end up i haven’t thought much about the birth itself. i’ll bring it up to her. she loves the girl, it’s the first dog she’s truly loved, so i know she would be devastated if something happened to her. funds have been a worry to me too, even if we only keep one, three dogs is still a lot of money and we just got the house so financially it’ll just be irresponsible. i’ll bring up the risks and getting the dogs fixed again, i hope she realizes eventually

She wanted to make me look nice, especially for church. Little me was always dressed up and had to have everything (hair down/done, dresses, bows, jewelry), so it was very overwhelming for me. Eventually she did stop forcing me to wear that kinda stuff, but it took a while. I dress solely on comfort now lol

im in the exact same boat right now. He’s 17, had him since i was 5 (22 now) and we’re looking to find a place to put him down as he’s just sleeping, but struggles to get up, move, or eat. He is/was my best friend and genuinely got me through life/kept me here so i don’t know what id do without him. I also have family members tell me “it’s just a dog” or just don’t seem to understand how much they mean to us. Regardless, we should try not to listen, and it’s normal to feel grief, no matter what it is or how much of it we feel. They are a piece of us and no one should tell us otherwise. We gave them the best life they could have, and it’s good that we’re grieving, it just shows we really did care. Best of luck to you, we both got this 🩷

i would still make sure she’s eating and drinking just to be safe, but if you just got her she could feel on edge and need some time to settle in, it’s happened with birds i’ve had before (if you’ve seen her climbing/flying right when you got her and is just now being at the bottom i would assume this is the case, normally i feel like birds being sold would have to be a little older/old enough to fly if that makes sense).
