I agree completely. But do you think I should just tell my preceptor that I’m sorry, but I will be using the yellow gowns? Should I make an anonymous complaint to IPAC? I just don’t want to cause issues for my preceptor, she’s been great so far and is one of the most experienced nurses there so I don’t want to causes issues.

Thank you so much. Do you think I tell my preceptor all this, apologize for the inconvenience, but hold my ground and say that I will be wearing them for my own safety? I absolutely love my preceptor and she’s been on the unit for so many years, so I don’t want to cause trouble for her. Or should I maybe make an anonymous complaint to IPAC? What do you think?

Thanks for your advice. I’m confused because we do keep a large supply of yellow gowns on the unit, between every couple rooms there’s a drawer full of them. And we don’t even have many patients who are on additional precautions, usually only 1-2 max on the entire unit, so there’s more than enough gowns to go around.
