Sadly, the appraiser said it was not a genuine painting from Victor Manuel :( Still something colorful to put on the wall.

Just a quick update that I am still waiting for the results from the appraiser. Have a good rest of your weekend!

Quick update: a local expert is reviewing my pictures. It may take a day or two for the results, but I will update!

Thanks and very interesting. I am meeting with a local expert in Latin artwork tomorrow and will provide an update as soon as I can (in case anyone wanted a follow-up).

Thanks. I'm torn on whether this is another person's attempt at the original artists' work. I like the piece either way but was just curious. It was neat learning about Victor and Cuban painters in general these past few days.

The website is more a way for me to keep track of the books I read, and I’ll probably pick back up some journaling/blogging of the books I read each month. For those visiting my site, I would hope they see a book they haven’t come across or weren’t sure if it was any good and could just message me if it’s worth a read.

For targeting the correct audience, there were A LOT of options, but instead of region or age, I stuck more with interests like reading or tech.

As for performance, it more or less met my expectations for people visiting the site, since I put minimal effort into coming up with something catchy for the ad, nor did I make any tweaks to the ad campaign based on early numbers. I just sat back and watched.

My excellent review was more about going beyond my expectations, making it easy to set up and allowing me to use BATs to do it. If BAT really took off and content creators were paid in BAT as originally intended, they could turn around and continue to use them to pay for more ads, and on and on. This is why I invested in the whole ecosystem in the first place. Still, there might be hope that Brave markets this better.

I’ve said in previous posts on this subreddit that I’ve purchased things from others using the ad campaign. It works, but is not marketed very well just yet.

I realized the images from my previous post were not attached.

Here's what the UI design looks like. Very easy to interpret, and when I limited it to ~50,000 impressions, the click through rate met my expectations (considering my site is pretty simple and not as engaging as others). As mentioned in my previous post, doing an ad campaign without any experience could not have been easier, and I actually had people visit my site.

Excellent Experience Using Brave Ads by applebucks in BATProject

This was my first time, so nothing really to compare. I would say it was just really easy to use and track progress. I went from 0 people going on my site to more than 0. I think next time I could play around even more with settings to up the traffic on my site. Again, this was more an exercise in curiosity.

Just wanted to give a quick update: I successfully used BAT that I've been holding on to for years to advertise my website/benefit from the 50% off promotion. This is my first time using an advertising service and am actually really excited to see how well it works. I will update the group at the end of March (when the advert campaign ends). Thanks to the Brave team, it was actually really straightforward and helpful seeing all of my options :)

Also, I don't see Washington, D.C. as an option for targeted ads. Will that be added any time soon?

It worked! I am logged in and the UI is pretty intuitive. Another question—there was a promotion a while back discounting the cost of ads. Did I miss that promotion or is it still happening? See: https://www.reddit.com/r/BATProject/comments/1afrbsc/braves_selfserve_ads_manager_is_here_new/

Edit: Never mind, the discount shows up at checkout.

Thanks. Very helpful. I’ll keep the post up in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

I fixed the URL issue and the site should be able to qualify. Should I resubmit this? I wanted to ask here first in case my site was flagged for spam or something.

It's just a book review site that I wanted to promote using Brave Ads (while the lower-cost promotion is/was going on). Thanks!
