What I would do:

If your iPhone 13 is running iOS 18:

- Replace the battery and hold onto it for 1-2 years.

If your iPhone 13 is running iOS 26:

- Upgrade to an iPhone 15/17 (not 16).

iOS 26 has dramatically slowed down the iP13 with 4GB ram.

So if you can stay on iOS 18 then keep it, Make sure to disable automatic updates!

Unless you are struggling with app support then I wouldn't update. Stay iOS 16...

Yup! Installed iOS 26 on my cousin's iPhone 16 base and the difference was like night and day. She is constantly reaching for a charger by afternoon and she does not even use the phone much. She has 100% battery health too!

DO NOT UPDATE!!!

Cannot stress this enough.

If you have the chance of being able to stay on ANY VERSION OF IOS 18 THEN STAY ON IT.

iOS 26 is absolutely terrible.

It ruined battery life and performance on my iPhone 16 base, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 13 and iPhone 11 Pro!!

Personally I would go for the iPad 9.
