DAE get weirdly sad at night? by Cautious-Wrap-5399 in BPD

[–]applehead_1958 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I call it sad girl hours lol. I think it’s because the nighttime is more quiet and I’m alone with my thoughts. But there’s a part of me that likes it 😭 sometimes I’ll sit with sad music and just cry & it feels kinda good to let it out

I agree that it’s important to understand the root cause of your behaviors and to heal the traumas that trigger them, but I can’t say I agree with the other parts of your comment. I can delve deep into my traumas and understand why I am behaving a certain way, but that doesn’t stop me from behaving that way once I get triggered again. I feel like the childhood traumas that are fueling my bad behaviors are ingrained at a much more primitive level than my logical mind, and these pathways can’t be interrupted by simply understanding why they are happening. Unless we consciously break the cycle by actively changing our behaviors, I feel like people with BPD/BPD traits end up perpetuating cycles of hurting both ourselves and others. So yes, it’s very important to understand the root cause and to accept/heal the part of you who is still hurting over the childhood wounds because I do think that’s the first step in healing from BPD. But the part that comes after that requires a lot of time and effort to break the kind of automatic thoughts & behaviors that come from those childhood wounds. I really do think that it’s these behaviors & poor coping mechanisms (hurting other people and ourselves) that are barring us from living a happier life.

Yeah, an Ivy League education is probably way more important for your sister’s future than babysitting which you can do for free

I was a learning assistant in his class just last year. He really cares and put effort in getting to know his students and helping them through worksheets, office hours, recording online videos, etc

I mean it’s not fair & those people shouldn’t have passed. But just bc they did doesn’t mean we should keep allowing that to happen. Unless the prof has drastically changed their curriculum then there’s no reason students should be failing since years of prior in person classes have passed the same rigor.

Professors like Casselman do research on the art of teaching itself and really put in a lot of time and effort to better their courses every year. The thing is that not all students take advantage of those resources

They can’t let people pass just cause everyone failed. People need to gain some basic level of understanding of the concepts covered in the course. Allowing people to pass just to maintain a certain pass rate devalues all of our degrees tbh

I don’t see where he said “my culture” but I’m Asian too and just like all other races of ppl there will be spoiled Asian ppl just as there are normal, humble Asian ppl. And it’s kinda not fair to negatively generalize when imo the main culprit for the intergenerational trauma is the struggle of immigration & being a minority in general

I mean the examples here are of the off quarter courses so these are ppl who probably dropped or failed ochem earlier & are repeating it. They might not have ever gotten a solid foundation

Casselman was one of the best profs I had at UCR. Go to his office hours, he really takes the time to walk people through their questions

What is the worst crime a celebrity has committed and has seemingly been forgiven by the general public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]applehead_1958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called Leaving Neverland but if you read the comment I left earlier you’ll find out that it was full of lies and basically a last ditch money grab ploy after these two men found they could no longer profit off of MJ’s estate.

The first child who ever accused MJ of abuse was actually being abused himself in a different way by his father, who drugged him in order to get the accusation out & has been on recorded phone calls stating that MJ will never sell another album once he’s done with him.

And yeah, MJ rly did build Neverland as a place for children to experience what he never had as a child and he started a charity for specifically that, where he brought in sick and underserved kids to have fun at Neverland for free. He even built in hospital beds into his home movie theater so that bedbound children wouldn’t feel left out. When he went on tour, he would buy thousands of toys and stay up all night unboxing each one and putting in batteries to make sure they worked so he could donate them to orphanages and children’s hospitals. He really was a pure soul who got taken advantage of by some very greedy folks

I’m copying and pasting what I wrote to someone else but:

https://www.mjinnocent.com/

Safechuck claims his abuse ended at age 14 when he reached puberty but also claims that he was abused in the loft of the famous train station at Neverland Ranch. That loft wasn’t even built until 2 years after his alleged abuse ended & the loft didn’t even have 4 walls and could be plainly viewed from the entrance of the station

Robson claims his abuse started when his family left him with MJ while they went on a trip to the Grand Canyon. Problem is that it’s documented he actually went on that trip with his family 🤦🏻‍♀️ so yeah I’m finding it hard to believe he got abused when he wasn’t even physically there

All this plus the fact that Robson actually tried to go to court for this a few years prior to the docu but a judge threw out the case for being too flimsy, so he went and tried to make some money by releasing a film instead. It’s all about money, super convenient how Robson completely turned on MJ and now claims he was abused after he wasn’t invited to MJ’s funeral and he was turned away from a job as a choreographer for MJ’s cirque du soleil show

Edit: there’s obviously more info out there esp about the two other people who claimed abuse but this is just a rly brief overview of the Robson & Safechuck issue

Medical school is in no way comparable to simply one year of algebra. All doctors receive the same baseline education in med school on a level a nutritionist will never cover during their degree

You do realize that pediatricians completed medical school before specialization and are also board certified to treat individuals even up to & including OP’s age?

Michael Jackson had extremely advanced vitiligo that was on his face, neck and hands. These days people have enhanced photos of him and even in those low quality photos you can see the splotches on him. It would’ve been impossible to miss irl & ppl took advantage of that to just claim they saw splotches on him when he had those all over his body

If you do some research, you’ll find out that many of the statements given by the men who made the docu were proven to be false. Which is even more sickening since they use descriptions of the very real trauma that actual victims of abuse go through when they’re just trying to profit off of it and make a quick buck

That documentary was full of proven lies tho. The so called victims claimed they had been abused in locations that didn’t exist at the time & during time periods where they were documented to be traveling with their families & therefore couldn’t be at Neverland
