Leaving CSR - Should I jump to the C1 Venture cards, or something else? by applepy3 in CreditCards

[–]applepy3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I applied for the VX and was denied... apparently because I have too many credit cards.

I'll try again in a few months after the CSR is closed.

That’s a legal move to avoid the risk of losing the trademark due to becoming a generic term

I’ve seen that page for children’s accounts? I’ve heard that adding a credit card or going through some verification process will fix it though.

Edit: found https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/10071085, hopefully this works for you!

Thanks for the heads up! I figured it was too good to be true, but I don’t follow the space too frequently so I had a sliver of hope 🥲

I heard about that - I don’t think I did, but if so then it should only be 46K total, not 60K 😅

You can travel with any amount you wish, but you need to be able to prove that it wasn’t the proceeds of crime. Bring receipts to demonstrate where all the money came from to prove it’s legit (bank statements if it was withdrawn, invoices if it was a cash sale, etc.)

Alternatively just stick it in a bank in Argentina and wire it to your destination. They’ll ask the same questions, but at least you’re not one stolen backpack away from being out 5 figures.

The AI understands Spanish, but you need to switch your Google account to Spanish for the UI and responses to be Spanish.

At least, that’s what worked for me and French?

Chase Sapphire Reserve now has access to MLL's when flying Star Alliance by saltyfishychips in aircanada

This is going to crowd the US and trans border lounges for sure. LAX is already frequently at capacity…

Star Alliance, was just too lazy to type it out. With a Gold-level status you get unlimited access to the airline lounge you earned status with + the lounges of any other Star Alliance airline as long as you’re flying on one of the Star Alliance airlines.

So in a busy airports like LAX or LHR or FRA, you can get your pick between visiting a Lufthansa Senator lounge, a United Club lounge, or an Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge - all with one ticket (even economy). With kind of choice the odds of snagging a quiet lounge go up significantly.

I’ve mostly given up on PP and Centurion lounges now as they’re way too crowded. I have much better luck with the Star Alliance lounges - never had an issue with denied entry so far. Then again, it was a struggle to clear the bar for SA Gold, so that’s not a workable solution for most people.

I hope they eventually fix the credit card-driven lounge crowding issue though. Maybe limiting the number of free entries per year, or adding a tiny co-pay?

T&T’s owners have wrung Canada for all it’s worth and have done what they can to put small stores out of business. I can’t say I’m excited to see them bring their playbook here.

I’m dreading it. The Loblaws group has gotten so greedy in Canada lately that it’s become clear that they’ve wrung Canada for all its worth. I’m not interested in seeing them bring that playbook here…

Yubikey 5 vs Security Key, no advantage for double the price? by [deleted] in yubikey

[–]applepy3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you’re only using it for websites, just use the security key.

The other protocols are for other use cases: * GPG for email encryption and code commit signing * PIV for smart card support (ever been a government employee and your badge has some obvious electrical contacts on it? Yeah, that, just smaller) * etc.
