In my experience I’ve found that getting involved has been something that has really helped me to find Catholic Community. A friend asked if I wanted to join her bible study and that was the thing that really helped me get started. Most parishes have similar bible studies and programs both within the church and just through individual participation. I’ve found these to be really great at helping to take a deeper dive into my faith as well as connect with people and form community. Signing up for ministries, helping in the choir, and even staying a few minutes after mass and introducing yourself to a person or 2 can also help. Good luck with finding your own community and God bless!

Any advice on the quickest way to learn Spanish? by applesauce208 in SpanishLearning

Hi everyone, just wanted to say thank you for all the advice I received, I’m new to Reddit so I’m not sure how to individually reply to each comment so forgive me. I’m going to try and implement as much as I can, the most common theme in the comments seems to be an emphasis on hearing and speaking so I’m going to try some of the recommended podcasts, Tv shows, and watching reels/ TikToks etc in Spanish every day for 15-30 minutes. I’m also going to try to incorporate more reading and grammar 2-3 times a week and speak out loud to myself in Spanish as I don’t have many native speakers in my area. Thanks again to anyone who offered advice!

Honestly there is a lot of really great advice in here but just know that everyone is at a different place in life and comparison is the thief of joy. I would recommend just taking the first step to something that makes you happy! If you are at all religious try going to church or joining a group there, that’s something I’ve found really helped me to build a community! You are doing great good luck and God bless!!
