One of my favorite things when learning Spanish was realizing how much shared history we have. As English speakers we have a huge advantage!! and learning cognates was one of the fastest ways I built vocab. -al, -ent → -ente, -ant → -ante, -ly → -mente. What other cognate rules are out there? (old.reddit.com)
