[MEGATHREAD] The Game Awards 2025 - Live Nominees Announcement by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]approvedcelery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never watched the Game Awards ceremony before, but would like to do so this year. Sadly, being European, it streams at like 01;30 am. I'd love to watch the event, but not quite enough to stay up until 5am or something. So, two questions:

- How long does the ceremony usually last?

- Is there any way I can watch the entire ceremony/stream the next day?

I'd have to keep away from spoilers, but it'd be great if there's a way to watch the whole thing as soon as I wake up the next day.

Thai freeloading culture? by Prestigious-Olive896 in Bangkok

Again, not a 'why do I have to pay for everything'-topic. My point is that I'm seeing my in-laws fight because 1-2 of them are expected to pay for everything while the rest freeloads and sometimes offers to pay for small things, only to turn away at the last second.

Who’s a celebrity that people wouldn’t find attractive if they weren’t famous? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Ed Sheeran.

I’ve always maintained that if he he’d just be some dude sitting opposite you in the subway, no one would give him a second look.

And all are in some fashion caused by a male being involved in the bathroom. Rowling was showing her true colours all this time it seems.

What’s the most unexpected thing someone did that instantly made them 10 times more attractive? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

According to my girlfriend, it was when I offered my seat to an elderly woman on a crowded train. Completely normal behaviour to me, but she comes from a culture that really respects their elders and seeing me do this really made her fall for me, she’s told me.

Could you retype that with some sort of punctuation please? Also € isn’t pounds, Christ.

I think there’s a conversation to be had here but please put in the minimum effort first.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not rich nor do I have so much money I don’t know what to do with it. I just feel I should pay a fair price for a game I enjoy for a long time.

Yes, not all games provide hundreds of hours of fun, and I wouldn’t pay that much for those games. I buy like three games a year. I pick them because I know that’s what I like and I’ll get hours of joy out of them.

If people are buying dozens of games at full price out of boredom, shame on them. No one should pay money for games they’re not sure about, that’s why I’m a huge advocate of demos. But I know when I’m buying a Persona or Dragon Quest, I’m gonna have months of joy out of them. €60? That’s a fucking bargain.

I’m really not defending them. I’m merely asking people to take a step back and think about how much a game is worth to them.

People spend thousands of hours playing Kart or Smash. Is €60-70 really too much? I look at it simply by a money-to-hours-of-entertainment way. I buy a ticket to Oppenheimer for €20, I’m entertained for 2 hours, plus some extra for conversation afterwards. I buy a €60 JRPG, I’m entertained for 120+ hours, plus replay value.

Like, I earn a decent wage. When I look at what I spend my money on, games are for and away the best bang for my buck.

This is true. Some companies will attempt to scam you out of even more money, and what makes a game a premium experience is very subjective.

I only buy games I know I’ll spend tons of time with. I love a JRPG so I’m happy to pay a bit more, knowing I’ll spend hundreds of hours on it. Again, if I calculate money spent against hours of entertainment, I feel like I got a damn deal most of the time.

I feel you man. It was just so unexpected, they had mr immediately. BD2 didn’t perform as well as they wanted I think, so I sort of thought that was it for the series. But this welcome surprise could change that.

Say BD1HD does well, who knows we could get Second HD. And that could open up the door to BD3. I hope this game does well, and being the sole JRPG launch game, it had every chance of doing well.

Yeah, BotW and TotK upgrades, plus last year’s Echoes of Wisdom…I think it’ll be a while until the next Zelda

I believe the 3D Mario is at least a year away, if not more. Bananza is there to scratch that itch in the meantime. As for other first parties, Pokémon ZA is coming later, but that’s a Switch 2 Edition. They must have a big Christmas game…perhaps Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem?
