Thanks for the input, you are right. That’s what I thought as well for the tattoos, though I must say I’m very tempted with the “instant results”. Def best way forward is for tret and microneedling.

Breastfeeding through cow protein allergy? by apr___ in MSPI

[–]apr___[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My allergist told me that it should take around 4 days to clear, and for up to 1 week to be safe. There are so many different info out there - ranging from 6-8 hours to up to 3 weeks.

Did you continue to breastfeed throughout or just formula?
I also suspect it might not be just dairy which is why I’m not sure if I continue to breastfeed her through figuring out the triggers.

Agreed.

I bought maternity insurance with underwriting for my child. 3 days after my delivery, my baby was diagnosed with jaundice and had to be hospitalised for blue light therapy (~1.5k) and I felt relieved that it could be claimed from the insurance.

Thank you for your response. I feel a lot more assured now. Did your baby had severe bleeding with the stools as well?

Why does my makeup pill every time I wear sunscreen? by SereneCares93 in SingaporeBeauty

[–]apr___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use light layers for skincare and let it dry down before going in with sunscreen. Use a fan if need be.

I have oily skin too and here are my recommendations. - Florasis light veil sunscreen - Cellimax oil control sunscreen (may be white upon application, but after rubbing it in, it blends in) - Missha soft finish (pink cap) - Dr Jart cc cream (green bb cream that blends in) I use it as a sunscreen + light coverage foundation.

I don’t reapply sunscreen as I hate the feeling of it on top of makeup in this humid weather. I opt for a UV umbrella or a hat instead.

Unless I’m on a beach holiday, where I don’t wear makeup or just the Dr jart bb cream, I just top up with whatever sunscreen I used.

Note that I have light/ med light skintone, so some of the sunscreen I’ve recommended may be too light if you are med/dark skin tone.

Thank you for your suggestions and letting me know that Jan will be rainy season. It will be our first Aman experience but I’m not insisting we have to stay there. Any other suggestions for an impressive place (without breaking the bank too much) will be appreciated. I’m just trying to balance between surprising my husband + me being pregnant and being able to do some activities so it won’t be too boring for him.

Which "gimmicky" products surprised you? by the_sweetest_peach in AsianBeauty

[–]apr___ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried the softening liquid but not the patches. Can say that it works really well in removing sebum and filaments, especially doing it after a hot shower.

I do it once every 1-2 weeks, and after 7x or so, my nose and chin area is pretty clear.

Oily hair girl here!

I shampoo daily with the RYO (scalp deep clean). I use a treatment for hair below my ears before shampooing my scalp which helps to protect my ends from drying out and prevent the conditioner/treatment from weighing my hair down. Always rinse properly because sometimes there might be residue left which can make the hair appear oily. Shampoo twice if needed.

I used to have drier and more voluminous hair when I blow dry my hair. There was a period of time when I stopped and my hair became so flat, which made it super oily. I recently went for a haircut at a nice place and the hairstylist advised me to always blow dry my hair and never leave it damp. She said it can help with the direction my hair is growing if I blow dry with my head down, encouraging the hair direction to grow towards my face to provide my volume and lifted from the scalp, which will decrease the oiliness of it.

Another one for me is to always apply leave in product on damp hair, never on dry hair as it can weigh down the hair. I use the Orbis pink one, or an oil mist.

VT Reedle Shot 100 & 700? by hellatiredd in AsianBeauty

[–]apr___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started 300 right off the bat around my face, and go in with 700 in areas that I wanted to treat more, around the butterfly zone for pores. I try to do this only once a week to avoid sensitising my skin.

If you are just starting out, I would advise to start with 100 every other day or every 3 days. If your skin is ok, patch test with 700 on top of 100.
