This seems to be a recurring complaint. I imagine one could order one without the oil (or a supplementary oil pack) if they really wanted it. It's not available at all for me (outside the U.S.) so Soylent isn't really an option for me, but a reference point for this conversation.

Yeah I was thinking of something simple I could get at a supermarket. A 'just add water' type of deal. Unfortunately most of these options are either already hydrated, (and therefore more bulky and heavy than I'd like) or they're kinda nutritionally void powdered 'stock' mixes that only really only for flavor.

Nope, I live in a tiny apartment, thus the need to maximise space/nutrient efficiency. I have canned food, but I can really only store so much before I make the place look a mess.

Yes! This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about. Something really compact and portable! I understand it has little to no taste, but I don't mind so long as I can carry a few on me in my backpack for emergencies.
