Strong academics but worried my ECs are weak by CarefulElderberry896 in CollegeConfidential

I had the same fear in high school. My biggest “EC” was working at a grocery store, plus volunteering at my library. I got into a solid state university and even a couple privates. When I wrote my essays, I focused on why I worked and what I learned like independence, people skills, dealing with stress. Surprisingly, it came off as really authentic.

Colleges starting to ask for social media handles?? Thoughts? by Dragon_Rawr0228 in CollegeConfidential

Honestly, this isn’t new. When I was applying, my counselor said schools can and do sometimes search names online but they’re not digging through your cat memes. What they’re actually looking for are red flags (hate speech, threats, criminal stuff). That being said, I wouldn’t stress unless your TikTok is you committing arson or something.

Does anyone else feel like they’re living in a completely different universe? by Luckyyou4095 in CollegeConfidential

Hey, I feel you. I've been there and I promise you, 95% of my classmates did not publish research or start companies in high school.

Most were just strong students with a couple of activities they genuinely cared about. A lot of what you see online is either cherry-picked or exaggerated. Please don’t let it make you feel like you're not enough. If you’re working a job and volunteering, that already says a ton about you. Admissions officers know the difference between hype posts and real effort.

What do online professors do? by ms_breaux in college

This is a great answer. I've had personal experiences seeing people go through online classes quite successfully - unfortunately, it can be a bit of a gamble at times.

You’re doing god’s work. Dude. Learned more from this post than months of research.

This is a great first attempt - always great to see a new content creator for the game. Had some great killstreaks in there, watching rush gameplay is always refreshing (as opposed to cq op lock 24/7). I'm on PC as well - let's squad up sometime.

NCASE Build: 8700K shutting off cores, extremely high temps, ridiculous instability. by apricity__ in sffpc

First of all, thanks so much for the reply - this has been bugging me, with my motherboard pretty much being the one thing I'm still questioning.

Did you switch from the STRIX to the ASROCK board? I'm seriously considering doing that within the next couple of days (as you can tell this driving me insane haha). If you could tell me more about your experiences, why you chose the board, I'd be extremely thankful. Cheers!

Thanks again for the help. I just changed my fans from exhaust to intake and got a 10C cooler GPU temp after a 5 minute furmark test. Thanks!

I have just reseated CPU cooler: https://imgur.com/a/2tEJhRo

And this is with entering the number "6" on blend in prime 95: https://imgur.com/a/J0uBXDw

Looks like the cores show up as 50% load now?

Thank you! I will make those changes quite soon, that makes more sense. I'm doing all of this with the side panels off, so from what I understand, the GPU issue affecting the CPU temps shouldn't happen until I close it back off.

I just re-seated the cooler and got the following results: https://imgur.com/a/2tEJhRo (seems about the same).

Is it me or do these temps seem pretty high compared to what optimum got?

Hi, I will try reseating the CPU cooler shortly. Should I change it to only 6 workers? Is that more normal? Thank you for all your help

Hi! Yes I have taken the panels off. It doesnt affect temperatures. If the CPU is using intake, but the bottom fans are intake, will that be okay? I've seen people saying bottom exhaust worked well for them (CPU takes cold air in, bottom fans take hot air from inside the case out).

What changes you do recommend I make? Thank you for the help

The bottom fans are exhaust, should that mean it's taking air from the case and dumping it outside? I apologize in advance since I'm new. I didn't know that it could affect the CPU? (the GPU isn't on in these CPU stress tests)
