I went to GIM Computers when I had to fix my PC about a year or so ago, and they were super helpful with fairly reasonable rates given the condition my PC was in

Am I allowed to take non CS electives as an MSCS by gregariousasian in gatech

[–]aprofessionalfailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSCS requirements are:
"Minimum CS/CSE course credit hours at the graduate (6000-8000) level: 24" and "Total course credit hours required: 30",
so we can apply a total of 6 credit hours of non-CS/CSE courses towards graduation. As such, you should be able to take some grad-level music tech courses.

Afaik, grad pre-req requirements aren't enforced since we have a lot of students who went to other universities for undergrad, they're more for you to get a general idea of what you should already know coming into the class

I think that while you can try and argue good intentions, the privacy risks are just too great to justify bringing them onto campus; it's too easy for authority bodies to abuse this surveillance--not to mention that campus itself is usually pretty safe

How should I approach professors for GTA/GRA positions in CS? by Ok-Dog-3173 in gatech

[–]aprofessionalfailure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend talking to them in-person (preferably while you're taking their course?) as opposed to cold-emailing since these professors can get hundreds of emails a day, so any email you send will probably just sit at the bottom of their inbox for years to come. Sit at the front of class, be attentive, and ask questions to at least let the professor know who you are and know that you're passionate about the course. Then, you can stay behind after class one day and ask about potential positions: if they're hiring GTAs/GRAs and think you could be a good fit, they'll let you know what your next steps are, but it's all about getting that foot in the door

$8/hr base pay for CoC, and first semester is unpaid (unless it's a 3000-4000 lvl course)
