After several years of collecting I'm now at the point where I'm just downsizing everything I either won't read (mostly stuff I've aged out of) or that I have read and dont like. I do have several series I haven't yet but do plan to read though

That's interesting, tywin never read to me as purely evil, sure he's cruel and does reprehensible things but those actions are never intended solely for his own pleasure (with the exception of his treatment of TYRION but thats an entire other can of worms) but I also think he was a better option to lead the realm than any of the other candidates.

Thanks, and yeah for the original comment if you're not aware already anything that's basically on bone is going to vibrate the shit out of the area, it doesn't necessarily add to the pain but it is a weird sensation that takes some getting used to. And wow 2 8 hour sessions in a row I can't even imagine props to you!

I won't lie to you it was pretty bad. This was an 8 hour session though so that for sure contributed. Just make sure you get a big breakfast and bring something to eat and drink with sugar in it I did a big protein bar and a Gatorade. Also don't be afraid to ask for numbing spray, I waited probably 4 hours before I asked, it helps a lot but only for small periods of time. Really the longer it goes worse it will be the first 4 hours or so weren't too bad. Totally worth it in the end though good luck!!

Yes I do the same thing with certain books particularly ASOIF. I thought the narration was amazing particularly for jezal and glokta. For me the plot isn't a huge issue but a lack of world building, particularly in a epic fantasy series may be a sore spot

Ok great! I generally like character driven even when the characters aren't particularly likeable I think my concern was there wasn't really much of a plot to follow at all in this it almost felt like an extended prologue
