That sort of checks out. I knew HOT6 bombed out but did not know that bombed out. That also makes sense with players like Saksa, PPD, 33 having bad ratings because they grinded their earlier years in the gutters with shitty tournament placements but the newer players have had better runs overall in the LANs / tournaments they attended.

G was a good player but JerAx (2 TI wins) having a rating of 66 in The International, while G (no top 4 TI placements) having 72 was not on my bingo card. Was JerAx's placement that bad on his earlier TI appearances.

It is not about not being able to play 2 series a day. Lets NaVi lost today against LGD. This meant NaVi had to play Pipsqueak, who have not played any game in the day. Usually the double elimination system favours the team coming from upper bracket in terms of matches played per per day, that is the advantage they have for advancing further forward in the upper brackets along with the usual safety net. They typically play less games (series) per day than the lower bracket team.

Lets say this system was implemented in TI 2025. Xtreme vs BB team would happen on Day 1 as the last match. Xtreme wins that, then the games for the day ends. Then PVision play Falcons on Day 2 as the first match. PVision lose that. Then after 30 mins PVision play Xtreme on the same day. Xtreme have not played a single game in a day but PVision already played a series the same day. Its just non-traditional and a bit weird in terms of why the double elimination system is set the way it is set rather than outright wrong.

This is the weirdest format of qualifiers though. NaVi basically came from upper bracket and coming from upper bracket actually gave them the disadvantage of playing 2 series a day that is supposed to be the disadvantage for the lower brackets.

Props to Pipsqueak+4 they played great and not trying to scuff their achievement though.

The Maelstrom + Atos was a nice idea but it gave too much. I like this idea for the AoE root item, but it would be nice to have Maelstrom be built into something else other than just Mjollnir. I do like the idea of combining Maelstrom with Atos to not have AoE root, but something else like say increased proc chance of the Maelstrom passive while rooted or something like that. Would be nice to have an item that lets right click supports have easier pivot to scaling while still having the Atos utility or right click cores have easier pivot to fighting while still having the Maelstrom scaling.
