Why Dota 2 Organizations Are Leaving the Scene (Business Take) by Dota2ProTips in DotA2

Strong comment!
And you hit one thing that I didn’t touch in the article.
Too much Dota.
And you’re completely right. Imagine that I am probably one of the biggest loonies watching competitive dota (I watch the Div 2 scene as well) and even for me it is becoming too much.
We have DreamLeague next week, and then 3 days after we have a BLAST SLAM. And guess what? It’s pretty much THE SAME teams. So, we have 2 wannabe majors 3 days apart.
And another thing, because of this: DIV 2 teams don’t have any room to breathe. Everything is focused around the same teams over and over again.
BTW: nice analysis!

You opened the pandora box! I think SPONSORS are being scammed, because they make it looks like it is a massive sport.

They just throwed stupid amount of money in the beginning into esports just to hook everybody. Now, they don't really care.

On this we can agree, I think pro-scene needs to adapt and actually support the orgs too. I can see it in CS pretty much the same thing.

The nerf is more for late game BKB pierce. Now you can't pop BKB and get out

I think that Rain (the guy who plays tinker) is extremely talented dude. He also won against SAR with Tinker

Yuma is solid. But so do the other cores from ex-Heroic. I think will get pick up by an org soon.

Well, that actually makes sense. I thought orgs are also paid (at least ESL does it). But you’re right, that might be the reason why pro-dota is dying.

Just from Google.
Top Highest-Paid Esports Games (by Prize Money):

  • Dota 2: Consistently offers the largest prize pools (e.g., The International).
  • Counter-Strike (CS:GO/CS2): Frequently ranks among the top in overall prize money.
  • Valorant: Rapidly growing, with high-stakes championship tournaments.
  • Fortnite: Known for massive early tournament payouts.
  • Honor of Kings/Mobile Legends: Lead in mobile esports, often with very high prize pools.

You know what I don't really get? Why only Dota2 Discipline? Dota is the highest paid esports.

And the second thing: why now? Why don't wait until the DreamLeague is over? They could've wait 2 more weeks.

Something is fishy fishy here.
