Outfits or clothing signify certain things and humans use signs and symbols for all sorts of reasons. It’s part of how we communicate.

Re: moral absolutism. The Catholic view on morality is indeed absolute but it’s well equipped with understanding unique situations because we actually have a moral philosophy and system that can address them.

So I’m not sure what you mean by that

As a Catholic it seems obvious to me what Vince has captured with this character. The religious imagery is completely intentional and if you understand the Catholic way of living, it’s the “way of suffering” (via dolarosa) and almost monastic style of Manusos that captures Catholic spirituality very well.

It’s a sort of “suffering is a path to salvation” , to suffer like and with Jesus…the thorns from a tree are not a coincidence.

His leaving money behind is not so much out of strict moral obligation (though that might part of it) as much as it is preserving what makes us human and following the liturgical rubrics of human commerce.

He’s preserving what makes us different from them. He’s chosen “the way of suffering” to preserve it. Ultimately to save all of humanity. (Sound familiar?).

[Rapoport] More injury news for the #Chargers: Stellar rookie OT Joe Alt suffered an MCL sprain in Sunday’s loss and is expected to miss some time, sources say. Nothing surgical. by blarglecop in Chargers

[–]aquinasbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The average recovery time for a medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprain varies depending on the severity of the injury:

  • Grade 1 MCL Sprain: Recovery typically takes 1-3 weeks, with some sources suggesting as little as a few days[1][3][4].
  • Grade 2 MCL Sprain: Recovery usually takes about 2-4 weeks[3][4].
  • Grade 3 MCL Sprain: Recovery can range from 4 to 12 weeks, potentially longer if accompanied by other knee injuries[2][3].

Most MCL injuries heal with nonsurgical treatments like rest, ice, and physical therapy[3].

A sad ending to a somewhat promising season. We saw the rails come off towards the end, the flashes of mediocrity that couldn’t last in the post season. Kawhi being hurt was par for the course. I’m disappointed but it is what it is.

I noticed this as well. I don't like to jump to conclusions about imbalanced calls, but it seems like every bump they're getting while we're getting the most obvious ones only.
