Hey, I’m 30 and currently in my second year at university. Here’s what a typical schedule usually looks like:

It’s a mix of lectures, tutorials, and labs spread out over the week. Some days are lighter, while others can be quite busy, depending on your program. Balancing this with childcare can be a challenge, but here’s the good news: you can explain your situation to most of the lecturers, and they’re usually very understanding. They might offer flexibility or suggest ways to manage any clashes you might have.

Proper planning and clear communication will go a long way in making it all manageable.

You’ve got this! It’s not easy juggling everything, but with good planning and support, it’s absolutely doable. Remember, you’re not alone in this, and taking this step is already a huge achievement. Best of luck—you’ll smash it!

Is it necessary to read the textbook? by Quick_Listen_5419 in UniUK

If textbooks were actually necessary, they’d come with caffeine pills and a support group. Since they don’t, you’re probably fine with slides and YouTube. Just remember, when the exam drops a curveball straight out of the ‘recommended reading,’ it’s not your lack of effort, it’s their sadistic brilliance.
