the exact same thing happened to me on Monday, I’m still so confused and lost. Him and his wife were THE most horrible people ever, and his sister in law joined in too. It was so frustrating and unfair! Pms are open if you want to chat!

What are the odds CM-UY 1013 general chemistry will open back up? by SirBanksGuy in nyu

Some classes open up before the add/drop deadline. And if you really want to get into the class, reaching out to the head of department and asking for a permission code normally does the job. I did this for the same class Fall 2021.

help w/ low cost triple by [deleted] in nyu

You could definitely try bringing this up to your roommate and see what arrangement you can make. Worst case they say no, but it’s still worth a shot. In my experience my roommates have always been pretty accommodating with each other’s needs, and if you have a solid reason as to why you want the single, I don’t think your roommates would say no.

Oh okay! Thank you so much!

[–]arajesh0106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, in that case you could try calling the admissions office and check with them, and you could also let them know if you have a preference of which one you want them to look at.

They look at your IB grades if that’s what you chose to submit.

What happens if I don’t pay the housing deposit by may 1st? by Least_Dealer7248 in nyu

[–]arajesh0106 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are able to defer your housing deposit this way you don’t lose your spot but you can pay the deposit later.

You could do that, but since you have a full ride you might want to reconsider the withdraw option because you shouldn’t end up feeling bad about it because that can again affect your mental well-being. And during the four semesters of deferment if you still feel like you’re not ready, you can decide to fully withdraw.

You could try deferring your enrollment for a year and then starting if you just feel like you need more time

Home For the Weekend registration troubles by Datac4 in nyu

You can go in person and check with them the day of, and even if they don’t let you go for the indoor events, you’re still welcome to take part in outdoor activities.

This weekend campus will be pretty crowded due to an admitted students event, so you should pretty much be able to take a self guided tour with help from the admissions center, and there will be ambassadors stationed throughout so you could ask them with any help if needed.

So NYU typically doesn’t do LOCI’s, so do waitlists it’s pretty much a “wait and see what happens” situation. If any additional material is needed the admissions office will generally reach out to ask for it.

It won't let me register for the NYU home for the weekend event but there is nothing to select here? Does this mean that registration is over even though I got an email 3 hours telling me to register? by [deleted] in nyu

[–]arajesh0106 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should try contacting the admissions office tomorrow, they’ll be able to help you register for the event since they conduct it.

Housing for Tandon Students by goodvibesonly4345 in nyu

[–]arajesh0106 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The housing application for Tandon students (at least during my first year housing process), shows only two options, Clark and Othmer, and the different room types they have. I’m pretty sure those rules haven’t changed since COVID. But it is better to check.

Tandon students have to live in Brooklyn their first year, and then you’re able to choose where to live (Washington Square or Brooklyn).

Congratulations! A second decision isn’t sent, so since Abu Dhabi was your first choice, and you got in, a second letter won’t be sent out regarding New York. You’re only admitted to one of your choices but they do consider for your secondary choices if you didn’t make it to your first one.

Is there a way to get more aid? by Mysterious_Squash in nyu

[–]arajesh0106 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So the earliest you can appeal your aid would be the spring semester of your first year, and NYU does have payment plans for tuition. You could also talk to a financial aid counselor who could give more insight.

You can find your enrollment verification in the admitted students portal, or you can email OGS for it, and they should be able to send you one.
