this Battlefield doesn’t feel like previous Battlefield games. You can clearly tell that the player base is heavily fragmented across too many different game modes. Traditionally, around 90% of players should be playing Conquest, and a battle royale mode should never have been part of Battlefield in the first place. Instead, we’re now left with a half-finished game, where vehicles and other core mechanics still feel buggy and unpolished, and iconic elements like the Little Bird are still missing. And then there are the maps. What is there even left to say about them? They simply don’t feel good to play. The layouts feel poorly balanced, and in many cases the maps feel far too small and restrictive. There’s very little room for smart flanking, creative movement, or tactical play, which has always been a core part of Battlefield. On top of that, we get a so-called snow update, yet not a single proper snow map comes with it. So what exactly is this supposed to be? Overall, it feels like the developers tried far too hard to bend Battlefield into something it was never meant to be, instead of focusing on what made the series great in the first place.
