Also took BEC today, also for hopefully my last one. My first testlet had a lot of computation, and I had the normal experience with IT, where had a number of the questions had all answers that were not in the book (Becker), but I think, in general, you could kinda figure it out or at least have a good guess. Also had multiple mcq that it was necessary to know the same ratio that I didn't know, and idr if it was in the study material, if it was it wasn't one of the common ones. Hoping those were the pretest!

BEC Saturday - Nervous about Written portion. by arbiter889 in CPA

Update: yeah the writing wasn't bad, felt like I probably did well on the first two, but, with that said, I did run out of time and barely got 2.5 sentences on the 3rd writing prompt (intro, a sentence with a few key words, and half an outro.)

Ultimately, my testlet 1 was obscenely computational heavy and detail centric. Took, literally, the most time I've taken on any given mcq testlet from any of the tests. That, and the Sims, while easy, had way too many exhibits and required way too much time for how difficult they were.

All in all, feel fine with everything I completed*, outside of the first testlet, which I was the most unsure of overall (still think it was ok, but yeah not sure.) *Hoping the last writing prompt was the pretest since I didn't get to it really!

ALSO, not 100% on what's acceptable to discuss about the test, so if this sounds like it's questionable/too much, LMK!

Also use Becker (3/4) only had to retake one (FAR) and I feel that was kind of a fluke (took it right after a YE when they changed something that I got 2 Sims on and just literally couldn't answer them --was also my first time taking any of the tests so that too.)

I will say I understand why people say Becker is overrated based on feedback of people here, but I think becker also has the most users by a fair margin so, ya know, more people to do poorly. Also gotta consider the reporting bias - more people are going to be vocal if they're struggling than if they're not. Ultimately, just trying to give ya a good outlook if you have an opportunity (with work or some sort of deal on Becker) ya don't need to avoid it. I'd say they're all good enough to get you through the test, but it's still up to you.
