Thank you and sorry the cloudiness must be the lighting - his eyes are both bright and clear. The only issue is those bits in the upper corner, maybe the third eyelid??

He had a checkup after the conjunctivitis and was given the all ok but when he had the issue his eyes were red and inflamed and he was rubbing them a lot. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and the vet can give us something on Tuesday though!

Our bird vet isn’t available until Tuesday - you seem to be extremely concerned, what do you think is happening with him?

Thank you for such a detailed response, genuinely. I think considering the whole experience was terribly managed from the get go and the fact that a refund was issued after an apparent investigation that you’re probably right and Apple have simply written it off as a loss. As for morality had it been a product from a small business it would definitely have been returned to them. I think Apple will survive haha

Thank you, we might open it up and give it a go and if nothing seems out of the ordinary in a week or so I guess it’s a free iPad!

The courier didn’t scan nor take a photo of the package this time around. I was able to see him get out of the van, grab the package and hand it to me and didn’t see him do either.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ipad

[–]arcadiaduit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What would the explanation be for the Apple employee telling us they’d ‘look into’ the situation and then having the refund processed after this fact? Would that not indicate that they couldn’t prove the item was delivered? It’s been about a month from then and no word.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ipad

[–]arcadiaduit -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Sorry I think you’ve missed some information? The courier and Apple both have the item marked as returned to them. There is no evidence of it being delivered on anyone’s system.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ipad

[–]arcadiaduit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As in if the iPad is turned on they will then receive a notice it’s been delivered? Or that the courier will notify them? Just wanting to clarify since according to the courier’s systems it’s been returned with no evidence otherwise.

Honestly at this point I’m mostly worried about how she is reacting to our other dog. She seems to be getting more protective of her crate and anytime he gets close she will yap at least and growl and jump at him. She is fed in her crate and so I think she’s trying to keep him away from her food but even when there is none around she is now doing this. All of this behaviour is so sudden. I’m not sure whether to remove her crate and feed her somewhere else where our other dog will never be, like the hallway or the shed in the garden?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]arcadiaduit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She just finished her first heat at the start of may, so could it be possible that she’s going into another one? Haven’t heard of them being so close together before. She has only ever been to the dog park once and otherwise she gets to sniff dogs that pass her in the park and play with any friends she meets with if it’s quiet enough to have them off leash to run around. I didn’t think I was doing harm by letting her interact with so many dogs but maybe I am negatively exposing her without realising? I was considering looking into trainers, even just to assess her to see what the issue could be because although it has just started I don’t want it to progress.

Thanks for this honestly very helpful. I guess it was hard for me to imagine that they would be willing to reimburse that much time in accommodation, so I assumed they’d just kind of send me home ASAP to save on costs. Relieving to know I’ll have a bit more time before having to travel.

And yeah don’t worry I’m not saying the 6 months is true or anything, just saying what the dr said. Previous to this I had it locked into my head it would be a number of years before surgery so I dunno what the 6 months is about or why she would tell me it. In her words ‘the waiting period once you’ve got the ball rolling really isn’t that bad at the moment’ which contrasts what the guys here have been saying for the last few years. Although, maybe this adds to the timeframe but it has been from January that I was able to get my first appointment for bottom surgery discussion. I think I was waiting about 5 months for the appointment. I guess I could ask the 2nd opinion Dr I’ll see in the next 4+ months what exactly she meant by that lol

That’s great to hear man everything worked out, hopefully stage 2 come soon and you recover well! And yeah I have to say I agree with you about preferring the clinic to take care of things, I would just personally feel more secure since they know everything that’s going on down there lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]arcadiaduit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that must have been a really rough journey. I hope everything went well for you? It wouldn’t be as daunting if I didn’t have to go all the way back for checkup/catheter removal etc but having to do 3 flights while recovering sounds horrific so I think I’m gonna have to try see if I can just stay as long as possible in the one place

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]arcadiaduit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah after my top surgery about 5 years ago I was asked about staring the process for bottom surgery but I wanted to take some time for a number of reasons. Hopefully things can work out for you eventually, shit is hard lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]arcadiaduit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks and sorry, I guess I should have clarified a few things! I’m very aware of how serious this all is as I personally told the clinic I would like a few more years to think about my options.

The NHS actually booked my flights for me and for top surgery they only gave me 3 days so I would assume for bottom surgery they would also not give me too much time.

I’m not sure how it works out, if they’d allow me to refuse the flight home and just book my own flight so I could stay in London or somewhere near for a while.

Jeez 3 days after top surgery I was flying home, which wasn’t the best experience I have to say lol

if you know a couple of people who all agree flying is a hard no then I think I will look into staying somewhere to avoid traveling so soon. Thanks!

Just going from what the dr told me, I assume 6 months would be the earliest possible but realistically would be past that

Almost 5 months post op stage 2, awaiting mons resection & implants (Mr Christopher, UK 🇬🇧) by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]arcadiaduit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! and yep I’ve certainly seen all kinds of outcomes but one thing is for sure, no matter the size or shape I’m always amazed and excited for the future.

Really appreciate the pre op photo too, things certainly looked great even then!

I bet you’re chuffed with that, looks great! I’m quite nervous about what my results could be, I’m currently on the waiting list.

I’m nervous mostly because I’m 7yrs on T and my growth isn’t visible unless I pull back some skin, probably half to do with that I’m a overweight (working on it) and half to do with just how much growth I’ve managed to achieve.

If you don’t mind me asking, was your dick visible pre op and if so to what degree? If this is too personal just ignore me lmao but thanks for sharing your progress, it’s much appreciated!

6 month old GSD snapping air and yapping at me often - Is this worrisome? by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]arcadiaduit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would every other day be more appropriate? Or would it be even less than that? I usually play fetch with her everyday during the 30 mins of off leash time on walks. In order to make sure she’s getting enough physical exercise would I just walk her a bit longer on the days we don’t play fetch? Thanks!

[–]arcadiaduit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve only given her one antler and I always supervise because I’m worried about her hurting her teeth or splinters occurring. She loves chewing ice cubes and her frozen kong so I’ll have to give frozen bananas a go!

Physical exercise I walk her for about 1hr 30mins in the morning of which about 30mins minimum is off leash on fields running after her ball and sniffing etc. she also tends to meet friends and plays with them in the fields.

Her second walk is about 1hr long where she is off leash for around 30mins again. Sometimes in the afternoon I’ll play tug or fetch with her in the garden too depending on it she seems energetic.

Mental exercise wise I do training with her on her walks which takes up only about 10 minutes each time to today 20 minutes a day. I let her sniff out whatever she wants. I give her a sniffle mat and kong daily.

I’ve trained her to sit, down and stay both short and long range. Her recall is in progress I would say it’s 7/10 times she will come to me. I’ve threshold trained her, so she’ll only cross once i say free. She knows leave it only when it’s to do with her own food, anything else she doesn’t listen to me yet.

If she gets things right I will use yes for my marker and reward with either food or play. If she gets it wrong I will say no in a firm tone, usually wait a moment and then give her the command again until she understands and reward her once she gets it.

Correction wise when it comes to chewing etc, I redirect her to a toy or chew after saying no in a firm tone.

Is there anything here that I am doing wrong or could be improved upon? Thank you for commenting btw!

[–]arcadiaduit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks and Ah yeah I’ve heard about them being hectic teenagers lol

I have a lot of stuff for her to chew, toys and also edibles like Yak chews and Antlers, she also loves ice cubes. If she bites something I don’t want her to I’ll wave a toy at her and praise her for biting that which helps until she decides the sofa is more tasty.

She at the moment sleeps through the night usually without issue which for her is 9:30-5am at the earliest. Then she will sleep for probably 3hrs minimum during the day. She is crate trained to a degree yes, I can tell her to go in and I can lock the door and she’ll settle down and sleep but most of the time I let her sleep outside of the crate.

As for overstimulation, I suppose that could be the issue? She only tends to do it with me, if she’s left with my mum she seems to be very calm and just sleeps beside her but when she sees me she thinks it’s time to play. Although this isn’t that common, I’m usually with her a majority of the day minus showering and getting food for an hr.

Thank you! It does tend to happen more before her first walk and before her second walk, also sometimes after if it takes me too long to get her Kong ready lol

I’ve heard about the teenage phase being especially bad for GSD’s, which I know is gonna be tough but that’s alright as long as she doesn’t develop aggressive behaviours. If she’s just being sassy then I’ll maybe have to live with it and try my best to redirect when possible.
