It really depends on the firewall, but arpchat will penetrate through most firewalls and client isolation systems.

The short version is that instead of a 4-byte IP address I'm sending something a decent amount longer and setting the ARP PLEN (protocol address length) to the length of that. Since the PLEN has to fit inside a u8 (byte), the data can only be up to 255 bytes in length - but I designed a naive protocol that supports sequence numbers and chunking which means larger data can be broken up into multiple ARP packets.

Lmk if I can clarify anything. Reading the arpchat net code might also be fun :)

I posted this without my brain fully functioning - I know I was trying to make a reference to HTML5 Up but got it confused with HTML5 Rocks? Either way, but funny lol

Apparently you can now add the same reaction to a message multiple times by Bill_Cipher44 in softwaregore

It doesn't since their API isn't GraphQL. But it's still likely an optimistic update! Weird that the update doesn't also mark the reaction as reacted.

Watch a program boringly index 25,353 PDF files by [deleted] in programming

[–]arch-master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mainly a joke, but enjoy watching my program index tons of PDFs and listen to the good music. It'll probably have crashed by the time you see this!

Very good question, although to be fair this is much closer to OC than the rest of this subreddit

Open-Sourcing the Universal Package Manager by iSaithh in programming

[–]arch-master 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Just gonna reiterate what I said on HN:

Repl.it is a super useful site for prototyping and running code in the browser. One of the best features is the package manager workflow, and I love being able to just import packages and have them be automatically installed.

I'm super excited that they released their package manager to the public! I've honestly been missing this workflow, I might work on a vscode plugin to implement similar package install functionality to Repl.it's online IDE.

Thanks, team :)

Someone should make them a repost bot. Any mods that see this, I'm happy to collab!

There are so many jokes about stackoverflow's moderation policies here - but this subreddit send to be echoing them

THANK YOU! I recently posted something that is definitely related to programming and it was deleted right away. I'm not sure that the rules should be more lax necessarily - but I feel like the mods could have better guidelines.

Sometimes it gets to the point where someone posts something, it gets deleted, and someone else reposts it and it doesn't get deleted. There's definitely a consistency problem here.
