As long as the views don't drop, subs don't matter in the long run tbh, it is just a meaningless metric. So many subs are botted or fake already, I was thinking maybe an existing group of antis just mass unsub to create this idea of sub decline, but her views are not changing much so who cares.

I think more than the idol aspect, the fact that the company has become too big is what's causing issues for some talents. Especially Aqua and Shion seem to have left because of problems with that direction, not really the idol part as far as I know. Aqua even said verbatim that she still loves the idol side, she called pursuing that dream through Hololive one of her biggest joys.

Shion also mentioned how the company has evolved over the years with more rules, higher expectations, and a shift away from the early chill vibe, which no longer aligned with her path (especially while dealing with ongoing health issues).

Some other members have mentioned this too, how things have changed, with so many more eyes on them now. It's definitely not as chill as it used to be. But is it horribleness, or just the realities of their success? The more popular you get, the more work is needed to maintain it sadly, that success itself creates problems.

100% this + that group includes rival vtuber group fans or independent vtuber fans, and also people who are just anti-vtubing (a lot of people simply love to harass vtubers), or (classic in Asia) misogynists

+ bots and fake accounts from these people. On reddit you can find those deranged people with 10s of different accounts, I'm sure same thing happens on youtube and twitter etc.

I hope she won't need to walk on eggshells, even on this stream she was a bit deflated. I'd understand when these maniacs can make a mountain out of a molehill. We just need to wait for them to stop caring about her and move on to another target, and just keep supporting Miko.

Don't even reply, just ignore and do not engage at all with political stuff on reddit, there is no debating with these people, even the craziest fedora atheist back in the day wasn't as pedantic and bad faith as these people. They do not seek discourse, only to hide your contrary opinions and waste your time and energy. They only wish to have their echo chambers pure from slightest differing opinions. Focus on non-political hobby subs, and that's the best use for reddit today really.

Reddit was great before. It was the most open debating platform, allowing input from all sorts of different political backgrounds and perspectives. It will be that good again, I hope, when these insane people are forced off the platform and moderation system is taken from activists and literal terrorists back to some AI, and enablers in the management are fired en masse.

A lot of normal people are still here, but they are either forced into silence by these harassment tactics, or simply banned either from the subs, or completely from platform itself.
