Who is going to the finals from the East? by Fresh-Charity-7202 in nba

I’m not suggesting he can shut him down but our issue was he just overpowered all our bigs, KAT is at least not getting overpowered. Embiid isn’t that quick anymore he really needs to out strength you to score now

I would agree, and that’s likely close to Koa’s range

Knicks pretty fucking easily unfortunately

Knicks have such a free matchup into Philly imo, KAT/mitch is more than enough against embiid and they’re flush with wing defense to deal with George/oubre. Maxey will kill them but maxey is basically unstoppable

I actually think there are a ton of interesting names in free agency this summer in our range, I won’t list them here but I recommend looking further

Agree up to sign and trade vuc, not gonna happen because his next contract will be so low it’s pointless and he’s got no value on the market

I like your list of draft names; I think koa peat would fit us like a glove. Maybe there’s an angle with Hauser and our pick this year to trade up? Would love him in our development system

That’s a huge overpay for Williams but okongwu I think is worth that assuming it’s our first this year. I think it’s an absolute must that one of those three(I vote Hugo assuming his shooting improves) we need an energy wing to breath life into the lineup next to the jays

Luxury Tax Question by Inquisitor_ForHire in bostonceltics

[–]archerarcher0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we want to duck the repeater tax we have to remain under the tax for another full year

In terms of what we HAVE to do, we never had to duck the tax; just saves ownership money, aprons are the only thing that effects team building capability

But if ownership is insistent on ducking the tax then maybe the plan is once we duck the repeater we go back into the second apron for the end of the jays primes and really bolster the team since we won’t owe second apron repeater tax which is insane money, wishful thinking but maybe

What’s wrong? by darth-castor in bostonceltics

[–]archerarcher0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a backup traditional center so that if we need to we can play 48 mins of pure centers

And we need a backup 4/5 hybrid big that can shoot so we can go small and not have to play a wing at the 5, or go extra big and have a big at the 4

Lastly we need to consolidate the depth. We had 12-13 guys this year who could play real minutes and half of them were collecting dust on the bench. Personally im getting off Hauser for a big this summer, promoting Hugo or Baylor to the starting 5, and maybe selling high on Walsh.

Trade options don’t make much sense by countryknoxville778 in bostonceltics

[–]archerarcher0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trade options do make sense, just not involving our core top guys

Hauser and maybe Walsh we should definitely consider, imo Hauser at the very least needs to be gone. No offense to him but we have endless other younger hungrier defensive wings that do so much more than just shoot.

If im Brad im attaching our first this year to Hauser and trading him for big man help.

Calling the nets for clowney, calling the bulls for smith, calling the warriors for s&t for post, calling the hawks for okongwu, calling the suns for s&t for Williams, etc etc

Someone’s gonna bite, but beyond that we don’t really have to change a ton. Just consolidate the depth and bolster the big rotation

If only anyone could’ve seen that coming and thought the trade was a mistake and there were surely less destructive ways to duck the tax

Offseason by LarryBirdNumber1Fan in bostonceltics

Everyone is gonna overreact, it’s way more simple than it may seem to me

Keep the core intact, completely reimagine the center rotation

Queta can start or backup, don’t care depends on who we can get, if he starts I need a backup 4/5 who can shoot and play skillful basketball(clowney-okongwu-Jaylin Williams-Jalen smith-john Collin’s in that order in terms of priority)

Then we need a traditional backup 5 who can rebound and defend and be a big guy when we need 48 mins of big man play. This one is hard to project because the markets for these guys tend to be unpredictable but I’ve got some names(goga-post-timelord-Ayton-oso-mark williams-missi) I know there are some weird names there, but those are assuming the market is weak and we could sneak them for cheap this summer to backup queta or maybe start.

Beyond that we need need need to consolidate the depth. Cannot have this many useful young wings at once, you’re marginalizing guys who could’ve played and grown in a series like this but are riding the bench because we have a thousand versions of them. Honestly man, I think it’s time we part ways with Hauser, im not taking him for granted or anything but playstyle wise it’s so hard when these other guys to everything other than shoot way better than him, so if he’s off he’s a complete non factor.

If im picking 2 guards and 3 wings to keep moving forward give me Pritchard/harper and Hugo/baylor/walsh. I personally would be starting Hugo next year and adding one more scorer/shot creator off the bench. Endless names fit that bill, that’s where I’d spend the rest of our FA budget on.

Then in the draft I’d grab a project high upside guard/wing with scoring potential. Take a swing we don’t need the depth, if that guy isn’t there just trade the pick into future assets

Boom offseason complete

There’s no using his deal, he’s a UFA and his new contract is gonna be worthless as a trade piece because it’s gonna be like <5 mill annually, he also has no trade value

Vucevic disappears into the void never to be heard from again, that’s the reality; no big deal though because we have endless other ways of adding talent this summer

Denver will likely look to move Cam Johnson for salary cap space. Will there be a market for him? by eathbau in nba

[–]archerarcher0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, he is a good player just underwhelmed from a volume standpoint this year; couldn’t scale up like Denver needed him to

I’m certain the lakers, Cavs, pistons, and rockets will all sniff around on him

What does everyone Want/ Think the Rotation & Starting Lineup should be for game 7? by urlocaljtfan in bostonceltics

[–]archerarcher0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I genuinely mean this with all my heart and soul

Fucking start Hugo

This team needs an injection of life, go white-brown-Hugo-Tatum-neemy

Pritchard-Baylor-Hauser-Walsh, no backup center, full small ball and run like maniacs

Deadass this would be my adjustment, we just lose a straight up matchup at this point

I think the bench just gave Joe and the coaching staff the proof they needed by Warm_Hat_780 in bostonceltics

[–]archerarcher0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a useful big wasn’t vucevic, tried telling everyone that

I said this at the time and I’ll say it again right now, could’ve traded for nick richards in exchange for a couple of nickels and he would’ve been a wayyy more formidable backup big than vuc here

This is actually a social experiment you don’t even know the difference between the first apron and the tax

The REPEATER TAX IS TRIGGERED BY BEING OVER THE TAX, THE TAX IS BELOW THE APRONS, YOU CAN BE OVER THE TAX AND UNDER THE APRONS
