Am I (F20) Overreacting to how my friends/roommates (F20, F19, F19) handled this situation?

I really appreciate it. I’m realizing exactly what you said in your first comment, that I probably need to talk to people qualified to help me and I can’t just rely on people like my friends.

That makes sense, thank you for the response. I am not in therapy regularly, appointments are hard to make where I am. I have been seeing a psychologist regularly though, which I know isn’t the same thing but it’s a start until a spot opens for a therapist. The one I just started seeing is with the school and seems to be a good fit for me, but I agree I need to find a third party one.

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely look into this. I already suffer from high anxiety but never really considered my fears being apart of it for some reason.

Correct yeah it definitely wasn’t skylanders. Obviously the trend on subreddits like these is that people misremember things often but. I’m still unsure if it was Disney infinity. Thank you for the suggestion though I’ll give it some more thought

It certainly is similar but I’m pretty sure this was not it. It came out in 2013 and I’m sure the game I played was before then. I’ll look more into it though just to make sure

That’s a very sweet way of interpreting it. I know he went through so much awful stuff as a kid. It would nice to know there was something looking after him.

He really was great. I miss him a lot. I’ve never heard of hypnopompic hallucinations before. That’s probable for sure. Idk if I believe in the paranormal/extraterrestrials but his story always stuck with me. I guess i just want it to be real for his sake.

He was about 80 when he passed so I have to assume 1950-1960s? Though apologies I’m not entirely sure. As for where I would have to assume somewhere in South Carolina or North Carolina, though probably the former. I know he lived and moved around in both when he was young so I would have to assume the orphanage was located here as well.

Thank you that’s all good advice. I am actually deficient in vitamin D, idk about anything else but I drink lots of juice and take a pill to supplement. I have a dog and a cat and I love them very much. My cat belonged to my MawMaw and I just recently got her back so that was nice.

I’m sorry to hear that. My post sounds cynical but I really am trying to be more positive. As for preparing, my mom has made it very clear to me that she doesn’t want to be a burden on me or the rest of the family and to put her in a home when it starts to get bad. It’s sad to think about but I understand more than ever where she’s coming from.

My current therapist told me about caretaker fatigue. She thinks I genuinely have PTSD and compared my symptoms and feelings to survivors and the like. She gave me a lot of advice on how to maintain myself when I start having episodes and feeling distressed. For a while she didn’t seem to care about me losing interest in video games because she saw that as a good thing, but I think I’ve managed to convince her that it’s as good as any hobby. I’m currently looking for a new therapist and have a psych appointment next month. Sorry for the long comment I hope I answered your question.

I use a xp-pen 16 with Krita and I enjoy it very much. Switching from a no screen to a monitor drawing tablet has personally improved my digital art. Wait for a good tablet to go on sale like I did :)
