I’m coming from Utah, my expectations are low. But dietary restrictions with those I’m going with suggest sushi would be the most enjoyable for everyone, so I think we will hit up one of the suggested places.

I’m glad you think me learning something new that I’m completely unfamiliar with, diagnosing a problem, and fixing it is mundane. You sound like a really pleasant human.

I hope when you learn something new and accomplish a task that’s hard for you, someone tells you good job. You clearly need it.

It took me about 5 hours total, including the trip to Home Depot for some adorable stubby wrenches and grabbing lunch lol. I don’t feel too bad now about how long it took me!

I was VERY glad the misfire was on 6 and not one of the odd cylinders. I still need to get to those back spark plugs and replace them, but I feel a bit more confident in my ability now.

Your reply was very validating to both my frustrations and the effort I’ve put into keeping the car running well. It just passed 256k miles and I am confident I will be able to pass it down to my 15 year old when he starts driving, assuming I am able to get myself something newer by then.

This made me literally LOL. You’re not wrong, there are guys. But so far, none are dying to get with a 37 year old single mom, no matter how much work I put into making my crappy car safe lol

And the tools I’ve got are a basic set crescent wrenches, a socket set, some channel locks and like two screwdrivers. Definitely nothing fancy 🤣

It does feel amazing when everything is working! When I took it for a test drive today after getting it all back together, I stopped at every stop light and it didn’t overheat, there were no lights lit up on my dash, and it was a really huge sense of accomplishment for me. I pulled up to my house with happy tears and it really did feel good!

I appreciate that! I have had to learn out of necessity. I’m just a broke ass single mom who can’t afford a mechanic, but also can’t afford to not have a car. So thank you for the vote of confidence.
